About the job

As a specialist in capital and liquidity management you contribute to the steering of de Volksbank’s balance sheet. In this position you act as a specialist in measuring, monitoring and managing de Volksbank’s actual and forecasted capital and liquidity position. There is a great deal of variation in the job, combined with a lot of responsibility and opportunities to (contribute to) advice to senior management. This position offers unique insight into the activities of de Volksbank and very diverse contacts within the bank, including Financial Markets and Risk.

Your job responsibilities at a glance:

You contribute to the responsibility of the CLM team to manage the bank’s capital and liquidity position. This responsibility includes:

  • Drawing up a strategy and policy for capital and liquidity management;
  • Advising on the optimal use of capital and liquidity and the desired composition of the balance sheet from a capital and liquidity perspective;
  • Drawing up a multi-year capital and funding plan, monthly reporting on the current and forecasted capital and liquidity position and making proposals for steering;
  • Monitoring relevant developments in the field of capital and liquidity, informing senior management on this subject and estimating the expected impact and including this in the planning;
  • Modelling and monitoring balance sheet developments and (liquidity-typical) customer behaviour, and advising (commercial) management on this information;
  • Performing ILAAP (including liquidity stress tests) and contributing to the bank-wide capital stress test, ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Resolution Plan;
  • Providing information for the (semi-)annual report, press release and rating agencies.

In addition, CLM is responsible for the secretariat of the Treasury Committee.

About the CLM team
The Service Team Capital & Liquidity Management (CLM) is part of the Balance Sheet Management Hub. Balance Sheet Management is responsible for the management of de Volksbank’s balance sheet, management of the interest rate result and risk, and coordination of the bank’s pricing policy. Balance Sheet Management is thus operating at the heart of the bank. The CLM team is responsible for adding value to the bank in the field of managing the capital and liquidity position. The team currently consists of 6 professionals.

Your qualities and personal traits

Putting your communication skills to good use, you are customer-oriented and you excel in stakeholder management, knowing how to create support.

Moreover, you have:

  • Preferably a Master in (Financial) Economics or Econometrics (or related studies);
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Finance or Financial Risk Management at a financial institution or within consultancy, preferably in the field of capital and/or liquidity management;
  • Good communication and advisory skills, in both Dutch and English;
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel;
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations like CRR, CRD and BRRD is an advantage.

What we offer

  • The salary range is between € 48.339 – € 84.614, (depending on your work experience) based on a 36-hour contract, including a 13th month salary and holiday allowance

  • Flexible working with a budget of € 900 every 5 years to set up a home office that meets the health and safety requirements, plus a home working allowance of € 40 per month
