Are you a team player and do you love to dive into financial puzzles behind the price setting within a bank? Perfect! Our team is looking for a new colleague who wants to contribute to the mission and goals of the Bank Balance Sheet Hub.

The Bank Balance Sheet Hub is de Volksbank's ‘internal bank’, and controls the achievement of the balance sheet goals by taking optimal risk and return measures. Its activities are knowledge-intensive, specialist, complex and involve large volumes.

We are looking for a Junior Pricing Analyst who is eager to learn and proactively pitches ideas to improve our analyses and processes.

Funds transfer pricing (FTP) is a method to evaluate the margin contribution from each individual loan and deposit that a bank has on their books. As a Pricing Analyst you work on improvements and new developments together with your colleagues of the Full Cost Pricing team. This ranges from the development of FTP and cost price models for products such as mortgages, savings, or sustainable finance to the evaluation of business cases for new products. You also participate in the pricing committees where you translate the outcome of the models into mortgage rate or fee proposals. You will be able to act as a spider in the web of the bank, communicating with: marketing, risk management, finance, IT, and product management.

Your skills and competencies
For this position we are looking for a candidate with great analytical skills and a proactive mindset. Next to your analytical skills you are eager to learn the ins and outs of cost pricing within a bank.

You also have:

  • A Master's degree in quantitative finance subjects, such as Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or similar degree.
  • 1 or 2 years’ experience in a financial institution.
  • Interest in creating financial analyses and cost prices models. Knowledge about funds transfer pricing is a plus;
  • Affinity with data analytics and programming such as SQL, Tableau, Matlab, or Python;
  • The ambition to grow and develop yourself continuously.

What do we offer?

  • De Volksbank has an accessible and informal atmosphere;
  • The flat organization gives you the opportunity to develop yourself professionally and personally;
  • Plenty of opportunities for development and growth within the bank;
  • Easily accessible, both digitally and physically (opposite Utrecht CS);
  • A 36 hour work week, which can be arranged flexibly;
  • An Individual Choice Budget (IKB), allowing you to choose when you use it (e.g. your holiday pay and thirteenth month) and what you spend it on (e.g. tax-efficient opportunities) and;
  • A good group pension scheme, with a contribution from de Volksbank of 22.5% of the salaries;
  • A personal training budget of 750 euros per year, in addition to the standard training options;
  • A homework allowance of 40 euros net per month and a budget of 900 euros every 5 years to set up your home workplace;
  • An NS Business Card and a reimbursement per cycled KM if you cycle to work;
  • A bicycle scheme to receive a discount on the purchase price of a bike;
  • Partly paid voluntary work;
  • A vitality program with workshops and coaching for your mental and physical health;
  • A laptop and phone.

Hybrid working
Although your main place of work would normally have been Utrecht, following the COVID-19 pandemic, de Volksbank adopted a hybrid working approach. This means that employees split their working time between working from home and working in the office (an average of 2 days a week, but at least 1 day a week). You will see your immediate colleagues every morning in the (online) daily stand-up meeting. Other colleagues too, are always just a few mouse clicks away. The lines of communication are short and the virtual doors are always open for you.

Agile thinking and acting at de Volksbank
Our entire organisation is based on an agile way of working. This means that we put the customer first in everything we do. Responsibility lies with the agile customer journey teams, and managers support these teams. As colleagues, we collaborate in a result-oriented way, and we want to keep on learning and improving. For our customers and for ourselves. Together, we will make our organisation more agile and make an even greater impact on our customers and society.
