Job description
We are looking for an experienced IT4IT DevOps engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for making life easier for approx. 95 DevOps teams in tribe Digital Customer Interactions and tribe Customer Journey Insurance & Pensions.
You and your job
As a senior IT4IT developer, you’ll enhance engineers’ experiences. You’ll be lead developer of The Accelerators squad, responsible for IT4IT consultancy and innovative solutions for complex IT challenges across the DevOps lifecycle. The Accelerators support squads with technical priorities, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, Azure cloud and acts as a liaison between squads in the 2 tribes and other IT departments across Rabobank.

- Provide technical guidance to the team and ensure coding standards are met
- Mentor junior team members, review code and conduct quality assurance testing
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, on small and large scale, to define goals, ensure timely delivery
- Proactively gather feedback from these stakeholders about our products and services
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to the team’s relevance and success

As a DevOps squad we don’t have a fixed set of responsibilities. Together we take responsibility for the full DevOps lifecycle. As a senior Java Developer, it is expected that you not only write code with best practices and apply design patterns, but you write clean code and mentor/encourage the team in doing so. You have a continuous improvement mentality. You always strive for quality which could mean refactoring, identifying anti patterns, inefficient code and provide ways to improve it.
You are aware of latest trends in IT4IT, understanding new technologies and know how and where to apply them. You have a learning mindset and open for new or different ideas and be able to discuss them with facts. You have ability to prove that a solution works for example by doing a POC. Leading by example is in your DNA.
Our tech stack
Our IT4IT engineers have advanced experience with CI/CD principles and Azure DevOps, strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages (such as Java, Python, shell scripting) and familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud services and following Cloud Native principles like IaC (Infrastructure as Code). Additionally, we prefer our IT4IT engineers to have experience with monitoring solutions (e.g. StackState, Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Observability, Dynatrace, Azure & AWS Monitoring), the ability to work with REST APIs for seamless system integrations, proficiency in Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and knowledge of PKI principles and certificate management.

You and your talent
- 5+ years or more working experience as an engineer in a complex IT landscape
- You have experience in Python programming at (at least) intermediate level
- You have a sustainable mindset with Cloud Native and Green Software prioritized
- Experience in or affinity with software development in the financial sector is a bonus
- You are fluent in English, fluency in Dutch is a bonus
- You take ownership from design to production and operations (DevOps mindset)
- You have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- You have excellent communication and mentoring skills
- You have an agile mindset and experience in working agile/scrum
- You lead by example – with a positive attitude, patience, and a strong sense of commitment
To be considered for this position, you must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. We are unable to consider candidates requiring relocation from another country.
This is what we offer you
- A gross monthly salary up to €6.130,64 (scale 9),
- Thirteenth (13th) month's salary and (8%) holiday allowance;
