Medior Data Analyst - FEC
Are you a Data Analyst energized by the challenge of enhancing risk mitigation measures, translating business requirements into solid analyses, and ready to make a significant impact in combating financial crime? Turn your goals into reality and join us!
Detecting Financial Crime (DFC) is the department within ABN AMRO that focuses on managing ML/TF and sanction risks. Within Detecting Financial Crime (DFC), the Innovation Design & Change - Data Analytics (IDDA) team is responsible for data and process analytics on a wide variety of topics within the DFC domain to enable data driven decision making. DFC and the three Client Units work closely together to manage the money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions risks we identify as a bank.
The IDDA team consists of around 10 colleagues with expertise in data analytics, process mining or both. You will be working as a Data Analyst within the IDDA team. In your role, as a Data Analyst, you will help build mitigating measures for new (client) risks and improve existing ones. You will support all phases of the process, from checking initial data requirements to exploration, prototyping and improving the mitigating measures based on data insights. You will work closely with risk experts and teams that will put your work into production.
Financial crime is a hot topic. The media seems to report on money laundering or terrorist financing just about every day. And these are just two of the types of crime we focus our investigative efforts on. The social relevance of our work is just as important to us. We mean this to refer to our role as a gatekeeper, which has a bearing on the security and stability of society, and – by extension – on the security and stability of our clients. All of this impacts our relevance as an organisation and our continuity. At DFC, we attach great value to linking up the interests of our clients, the bank and society at large.
Established a few years ago, DFC is further maturing. The fact that the department is in transition will give extra depth to your role. In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to help the department get to the next stage and initiate improvements. The DFC department brings together a wide range of expertise; there are data analysts, operational specialists, lean consultants, management consultants and subject matter experts. Thanks to our multidisciplinary approach, you will learn about different disciplines. And the fun part is, you will get to interact with the entire bank.
Fitting DFC, you are a person with integrity and innovative by character, with an interest in society. You will settle for nothing less than the right thing for our clients, the bank and society as a whole. Our success is driven by smart thinking combined with a hands-on, can-do mentality. Your track record shows:
• You’re enterprising, creative and a team player
• You are able to perform analyses from end to end. You start with understanding the requirements for risk mitigating measures, translate them into code, present the results to stakeholders and support the handover to teams that put your work into production.

• You know how to balance additional complexity and added value to find the optimal way to mitigate risks
• You communicate clearly and can translate complex technical insights into understandable information for non-technical stakeholders to enable decision making

• You have at least 3 years of working experience in a data analytics or related role
