• Gross monthly salary between €10,855 and €15,507 (senior kader B) for a 36 hour week

As Head of Enterprise Engineering, you will lead the development and enforcement of engineering standards, knowledge frameworks, and skill profiles across all CITO domains. You will be responsible for embedding long-term strategic vision into engineering practices, ensuring policy compliance, and fostering innovation and collaboration. You will work closely with CTOs, domain managers, and external partners such as vendors, fintechs, and research institutions to bring outside-in perspectives and shape Rabobank’s engineering future.

• Develop and operationalise enterprise-wide engineering governance frameworks that span software development, infrastructure architecture, and IT service lifecycle management.
• Design and implement scalable learning ecosystems and mentoring programmes that elevate technical mastery and cross-functional collaboration across 10,000 engineers.
• Lead strategic cross-domain initiatives such as sustainability and engineering communities, embedding them into the operating model and aligning with MT priorities.

• 36 tot 40 hours per week.

• 9.5 million customers worldwide.

• Ensure rigorous compliance with engineering standards and procedures across coding, infrastructure, and technology domains, while continuously evaluating their effectiveness and impact on risk posture.
• Define and evolve the knowledge architecture and competency frameworks for architects, engineers and business analysts, ensuring alignment with Rabobank’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations.
• Take strategic ownership of cross-domain MT themes, translating them into actionable programmes that foster innovation, cohesion, and measurable outcomes across engineering disciplines.

You report to the Chief Architecture & Engineering Officer and operate within the MT CAEO, collaborating with CTOs, domain managers, and external stakeholders to shape Rabobank’s engineering strategy.

• Academic working and thinking level, preferably MSc or PhD in science or engineering
• Fluent in English and Dutch (native), both spoken and written.
• Over 15 years of experience in strategic technology leadership, including enterprise-scale transformation and stakeholder management
• Deep expertise in regulatory frameworks and their impact on IT systems, compliance, and operational processes
• To be eligible for this role, you must reside in the Netherlands
