The FEC Global Sanctions department plays a critical role in Rabobank’s financial crime prevention strategy. The Global Sanctions area within FEC Tech is responsible for: Transaction Filtering, Name Screening, Model development and Real time detection. The scope of this role is Transaction Filtering.
Transaction Filtering: Screening financial transactions against global sanctions lists to prevent dealings with sanctioned individuals, entities, or countries.
To support this, Rabobank operates a transaction filtering platform that continuously evaluates transactional behaviour, enabling timely identification and escalation of unusual activity.
As a Tech Lead within the Global Sanctions area of FEC Tech, you will play a key role in leading squads that develop and maintain transaction filtering solutions. Your focus will be on ensuring operational stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of our detection capabilities. You will help shape a secure and resilient banking environment by guiding teams that work with critical filtering systems. Generative AI (AI system that can generate content) is currently being embedded in the applications of Global Sanctions. Moreover, we are currently exploring the usage of Agentic AI.
- Strengthen IT stability and compliance within the Sanctions area.
- Collaborate with IT partners to improve delivery processes and operational efficiency.
- Inspire and coach engineering talent within Rabobank.
- Contribute to strategic goals of CFECO and CITO.

- You will lead 3 squads, each responsible for Transaction Filtering
- Global scope and a prerequisite to execute payments
- Represent the Tech domain within the Global Sanctions area.
- Vendor and Tooling Management: Overseeing the tech stack and vendor relationships that support sanctions detection.
- Ensure IT stability, security, and compliance in line with Simplify@Scale governance.
- Lead multiple squads, with responsibility for team growth and performance.
- Collaborate with teams working with technologies such as RiskShield, Databricks, Azure DevOps.
- Manage dependencies across FEC Tech and other domains.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, curiosity, and collaboration.
- Promote engineering excellence through strategic hiring, coaching, and best practice implementation.
- Facilitate cross-squad learning and maturity by encouraging knowledge sharing and documenting success patterns.
- Identify and implement growth opportunities in a continuously evolving environment.

- Academic working and thinking level.
- 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or coordinating IT role in complex environments.
- Experience with DevOps teams and Simplify@Scale (S@S).
- Affinity with transaction filtering and software lifecycle management.
- Experience with implementing third-party software platforms.
- Being passionate about managing people and experience on working close with different people.
- Passion for digitalization and cloud technologies
- Strong proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Able to carefully balance interests and risks in collaboration with the business.
- Experience in managing IT incidents
