Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer you know the world of data and analytics well, and within a short period of time you will know how to link this perfectly to the complex work field within ABN AMRO. With your experience as an engineer, you will work on the modern datastores of I&T. working with data from P&T, CISO, CDO and more.

Your role focuses on formulating and developing our data needs, environment and platform. Additionally you will contribute to improve our data sourcing, processing and data quality. Through close collaboration and analysis, you retrieve the exact data needs of Platform & Technologies and you know how to technically implement this in the platform. You are interchangeably working on, among other things, setting up our future-proof data architecture, making the correct data available, unlocking the necessary data, and developing the data pipelines making the data available for analysis. Together with the team you will be responsible to ensure our solution adheres to standards and policies set by internal and external parties.You and the rest of the team will create the basis of a data driven organisation that can rely on the data engineering capabilities of our team. You will engage in training junior and medior team members to stay a well-oiled DevOps capable data engineering team and together with the team members you will guarantee the technical alignment with stakeholders throughout P&T. Combining technology and knowledge, your contribution is essential for P&T to be a data driven organisation.

Platforms & Technology is ABN AMRO’s Internal (IT) Service Provider and delivers state of the art IT with optimal technology, easy to consume services, and end to end control & oversight.To become a personal bank in a digital age all departments of Platforms & Technology do their part to deliver a future proof foundation for the IT landscape.​​​​​​​P&T is a service-based organisation, providing IT to ABN AMRO employees and grids with reliable, in control, business-enabling, easily adaptable and future-proof IT platforms & technologies which can be consumed via self-service mechanism and allow a shorter time to market for (new) functionalities.As a Data Engineer you’re part of Data Driven Services department of P&T. This department is responsible for all data and analytics related activities within P&T and deliveries the IT for the Enterprise Enabling Data Domain (CDO,CISO,P&T,I&T,Procurement). We are a dynamic department that is characterized by good cooperation. Fun in our work is paramount in which we work enthusiastically on all the varied data and analytics activities that strengthens the bank.

• You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, with a relevant HBO / WO study• You have experience in working with complex data sets, tools and components within data architecture• You have experience with data warehousing • You have experience transforming data using SQL, Python and Spark• You have extensive experience with improving data quality, reliability and efficiency • You have experience working in a DevOps team• You have extensive experience with data integration activities (ETL)• You have extensive experience working with cloud solutions, preferably on Azure and with Databricks• You have experience working in an Agile environment• You are focused on collaboration, innovation and achieving goals• You are fluent in English (Dutch is a bonus, not a must)
