Working at Rabobank
Working at a bank might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But have you ever considered that you can contribute to a better world at our bank through choices in for instance financing and projects that make an impact to clients? For example, by bringing new ideas to the bank with your fresh perspective and involving customers in transitions.
You probably already knew that Rabobank is a financial service provider for more than 9.5 million customers in 40 countries. But we also take our responsibility to society very seriously. We do this in many ways. Such as:

The Rabobank Traineeship
The Rabobank Traineeship offers you the chance to get to know the organization and our departments in 18 months and work with many different colleagues from the bank.
We offer you a unique experience with four rotations, giving you a broad perspective on our organization. These rotations can take place within any department at the bank. We arrange the first two assignments based on your educational background, interests, and growth potential. After that, it’s up to you to choose what your preference would be!
Personal development is also central to the program. In addition to working within the various departments, you will also work on developing yourself, both professionally and personally, through coaching sessions and training. A buddy, a former trainee, will help you find your way within the bank. Next to that you will receive guidance from a talent manager and mentor.
During the Global track of the Rabobank Traineeship, you will build a large network. There are plenty of challenging projects for you to focus on as a Rabobank Trainee. You are the future of the bank. What will it look like? That’s up to you!
Here are some examples of rotations from current and former trainees:
- Originating green bonds.
- Helping customers with the alignment of energy transition projects.
- Project management within our innovation departments.
- Financing solutions to make homes more sustainable.
- Advising on mergers and acquisitions.
- Trade swaps.
After the 18 months, you choose a position within Rabobank that suits you best.
What do we offer you?

- A gross monthly salary of €3,460 (based on a 36-hour workweek).
- A 13th month and holiday pay.
- An Employee Benefit Budget (10% of your monthly income). How you use this budget is up to you. Think, for example, of buying extra vacation days, an extra deposit into your pension, or even having this budget paid out monthly.
- A personal budget that you can spend on activities aimed at your development and career.
- 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport.
- A pension scheme where you choose whether you contribute 3.5% or 5.5%.
Who are you?

In addition, you meet the following requirements:
- A Master’s degree. Even if you are about to graduate, we would love to get to know you.
- A maximum of 2 years of work experience.
- Relevant extracurricular activities.
- You are curious, flexible, and driven by innovation.
- The skills to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Living in the Netherlands.
