You & your future
From the start in April, in just 18 months, trainees will learn the fine points of Rabobank’s IT domain. You will have the opportunity to work at four different departments within the Area of your expertise.

The program is designed to give you a broad view of the IT organisation by offering rotations across departments. You can shape your own future! In addition to day-to-day work, trainees work on a side project and join Rabobank’s trainee network in a personal development journey. A buddy system provides you with help in finding your way around the bank and joining social events. You will also receive coaching from a talent manager. After you have finished the 18-month program you have a solid foundation to further develop yourself in a permanent position at one of your rotation positions or elsewhere in our bank!

While your core responsibilities and skills remain consistent, you'll be challenged to apply them in new ways within different organisational ontexts. Our learning objectives focus on agility, self-reflection, and the importance of networking. During the rotations, you'll gain exposure to multiple business domains, moving to different teams and exploring new areas. This is your chance to grow both personally and professionally, making valuable connections along the way.

As a Junior Business Manager, you will learn as much as you can about a particular Business Area of Rabobank and use that knowledge to translate so-called Business requirements into various solutions. You contribute to create new or improve existing systems and processes. You will become a specialist where Business meets IT in all sorts of different ways (procedural, but also between people). In the field of Business & IT specifically you learn about the various ways data flows and is used throughout the entire organization, and how you create value out of it for Rabobank, our customers and society as a whole.

Examples of projects/tasks

  • As a Business Manager you know how to find the required data and interpret it for the correct information. You know how to analyse it thoroughly and determine the best possible approach to make value out by creating functional designs and helping your IT engineers develop a robust and well-performing data solution.
  • You act as a “linking pin” between different stakeholders of your team on Business-side, IT-side, as well as your own management. In doing so you will be responsible for managing multiple workstreams and projects to best utilize your team capacity and make sure everyone is on the same page.
  • A specific task for a Junior Business Manager could be supporting the analysis of market trends and preparing reports for senior management. This includes gathering data, conducting basic analyses, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.

Practical details

  • Period: 18-month Traineeship, consisting of 4 rotations of 4 months each.
  • 36 hours per week
  • After successfully finishing the traineeship you will continue working with us as Junior Business Manager
  • Hours per week: 36 hours per week.

Your development as a Trainee
To become a specialist in your field, you will mainly follow training sessions that match your specialization as a Junior Business Manager and further develop your talents during the first 18 months. The training sessions are mainly on personal development and additionally professional development are mostly given by experienced professional trainers. With these training sessions, you will have the opportunity create the best version of yourself and earn IT certificates that are valuable for your work.

You will build your network, gain valuable experience, and develop soft skills that will be useful in your career. We also challenge you with various situations and learnings on the job. Next to this you will receive professional and tailored mentoring to help you to start at Rabobank.
