Senior Vendor & Contract Manager
You & your job
As a Vendor and Contract Manager you really add value. The IT Vendor Management team brings talented people together to ensure the best services for our stakeholders and clients. With you as a Vendor and Contract Manager the team will consist of 31 colleagues in a variety of roles.
IT Vendor Management is part of the Continuity 4 Tech department within the Engineering & Enterprise Tech division of CITO (Chief Innovation & Technology Officer). CITO assures Rabobank can be a rock-solid and innovative technology-driven cooperative bank and with rock-solid we mean running the bank of today stable, secure, and at the right cost level. Innovative applies to our responsibility to drive the innovation and (digital)transformation agenda of the bank with state-of-the-art technology and data & analytics capabilities.
IT Vendor Management acts as ‘the bridge’ between CITO and her external partners and ensures a firm grip on all IT vendors within Rabobank.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do and in your role you are responsible for vendors, contracts and/or domain(s)/departments within CITO. Besides the responsibility for advising your stakeholders with regard to closing, managing, adjusting and terminating contracts and SLA’s you are also the primary contact for managing the relationship with the vendors assigned to you, while keeping a constant eye on the related risks.
An important part of your role is ensuring the best outcome regarding service delivery experience and cost outcomes (best price/performance) and contribution to IT and business targets combined with finding the best ways to execute business priorities through the vendors. As such conducting negotiations with (large) vendors is also part of your activities in which you represent the interests of Rabobank. You work closely with, amongst others, your direct colleagues from IT Vendor Management, Procurement, Compliance, Legal and Risk.
You execute (parts of) the procurement and contracting process, including the selection of vendors, negotiating and contracting in adherence to the agreed upon procedures and policies.
Next to that you are responsible for identifying, recording and monitoring deviations within and outside your focus areas with respect to contractual agreements, costs, policies, risks etc. You manage your contracts in accordance with the applicable procedures and policies and you are responsible for the implementation of these procedures and policies within your focus areas within CITO. You are also expected to contribute to the further optimization and standardization of these policies from a continuous improvement perspective.
You identify and mitigate risks, make sure you meet compliancy requirements, monitor expenses (invoicing vs services delivered) and the performance of vendors. Assessing our vendors takes place on an ongoing basis in which you play a key role, you act on this by initiating and leading (process) improvement initiatives across the entire chain, including improvement opportunities between vendors and CITO.
An average working day
Are you curious about what is on your to-do list on an average working day? As a Vendor & Contract Manager you probably will start your day with a short look at your schedule. Today you will start with a stand-up with your Vendor & Contract Manager colleagues to discuss ongoing projects and topics at hand. After that you have your monthly tactical call with one of your appointed vendors after which you are invited to join a call with several stakeholders about a service that needs to be contracted with one of your assigned vendors. After your lunch you have an appointment with a Domain controller to discuss invoices which are not clear or correct. You end your day with a meeting with a contract owner to discuss the outcomes of a contract risk assessment for a new contract that you are working on.
Working within IT Vendor Management means a dynamic working environment, where no day is the same and where you are constantly working on supporting your stakeholders but also on developing and improving yourself with the many challenges that come your way every day.
Top 3 responsibilities
- Supporting the domain(s)/department(s) stakeholders with regard to closing, managing, adjusting and terminating contracts and SLA’s but also advising them on the best way forward with regard to these topics
- Managing the vendors that are assigned to you, on an operational, tactical and strategic level, all within the agreed frameworks and in line with policies and laws and regulations supported by an appointed Senior IT Lead or executive for that specific vendor
- Being compliant is key for Rabobank in everything we do. As a Vendor & Contract Manager you advise, support and trigger your contract owners on (vendor) performance management, but also risk assessments and re-assessments and make sure that we comply with all required obligations
Together we achieve more than alone
We believe in the power of differences. By combining the unique differences of people we make sure that we become an even better bank. We are therefore curious about what you will add to the IT Vendor Management team.
