(Associate) Director

Rabo Investments, the captive investment arm of Rabobank, is looking for an (Associate) Director to expand its the Fund & Co-Investments team. The Fund & Co-Investments team actively originates equity investment opportunities, monitors the portfolio, adds value and drives cross sell opportunities in its portfolio for the rest of the bank. Investment activities are focused on the global home markets of Rabobank, targeting exciting global F&A and Dutch companies – all contributing to the strategic pillars of Rabobank: Banking for Food (B4F), Banking for the Netherlands (B4NL) and Banking for Energy Transition (B4E).

You and your job

As an (Associate) Director you will be responsible for leading the execution of new, and management of existing, equity commitments, through direct co-investments and fund investments.

Get results

• Originating, negotiating and coordinating the execution of co-investment and fund investments and end-to-end responsibility for the entire investment process.
• Delivering strong process management in the execution of new commitments, engaging all relevant stakeholders in a timely and coordinated manner;
• Establishing and maintaining good relationships across the portfolio of fund and co-investments and taking responsibility therein for enabling value creation (through unlocking Rabo’s knowledge and network base)

• Investments across 5 continents with main focus on EU and US
• AUM of 1.7 bn with a growth mandate
• >40 fund investments and 14 co-investments with a growth mandate

Top 3 responsibilities

• Leading origination efforts by taking ownership of business plans and engaging/building relationships with external prospects and internal stakeholders (e.g. sponsor coverage, M&A, Sector Banking);
• Coaching associates, analysts and trainees in the team;
• Ensuring internal sign offs from relevant legal, tax, risk and control bodies of Rabobank and overseeing internal reporting processes to ensure compliance to local regulatory frameworks.

Fund & Co-investments has a mandate to grow through targeted fund commitments and an active roll-out of our co-investment mandate supportive to Rabo’s mission of Growing a Better World Together. A selection of investments in our existing portfolio include Butterfly Equity, PAI, EQT and Waterland, and selected co-investments include LiveKindly, Orgain, Milk Specialties Global and Esdec.

You and your talent

• Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in private equity or M&A
• Drive for private equity is essential, F&A sector knowledge is a plus
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical skills and financial modelling experience
• Excellent communication skills with proven output in internal investment papers
• Reliable, proactive, and a team player
• Fluent in English
• You are currently living and allowed to work in the EER.

This is what we offer you

• A gross monthly salary up to € 6,741 (scale 10) or up to € 8,111 (scale 11)
• A thirteenth month and holiday pay and an 11% budget to spend to your liking (salary, extra holidays, additional pension, bike plan…);
• A pension scheme, to which your contribution is only 3.5 or 5.5% (you choose)
