Job Description

As a Scrum master within the Financial Economic Crime (FEC) & Onboarding Area, you are part of a team that aims to develop applications to improve the overall experience and efficiency of client onboarding specialists when reviewing a client against regulatory requirements.

You and your job

As a Scrum Master you are able to coach your team to self-organise. You ensure that nothing stands in the way of a good team delivery. You will be removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments. You also coach the team on product, technology and people.

You will collaborate closely with the other Scrum Master of the team. The two of you are responsible for leading a team made up of 4 business squads and 3 (temporary) squads focused on optimizing technical capabilities. Together, you facilitate scrum ceremonies, remove impediments and coach the development team to improve efficiency. In addition, you work with the other scrum masters in the Client, Banker & Data Tribe to grow and reach the next stage of the Tribe’s agile maturity. You identify trends and recurring themes and take appropriate actions.

  • Bring focus, ownership and effective decision-making to the team in collaboration with stakeholders;
  • Solve impediments with your squads;
  • Continuously improve the agile way of working with the other scrum masters to also ensure a clear scrum strategy within the Area/Tribe.

  • Coaching team members into a mature agile way of working, giving constructive feedback so people are able to develop themselves and align with stakeholders like product owners, managers, service owners;
  • Organizing scrum ceremonies and ensuring they are efficient working sessions, including sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, demos and daily scrums
  • Being the contact for the team regarding all Agile questions, maintaining scrum tools and find the best way to combine daily operation and change

The Wholesale & Rural organization within Tech supports the wholesale bank across the globe. The Client Banker and Data services tribe delivers and supports global business systems, including process automation in the areas of CRM, Client Onboarding, Client Data Management, Document- and Case Management. The Client cluster has global responsibility for servicing more than 20+ locations divided in multiple regions. The delivery unit is working closely with strategic programs within other domains to realize the bank’s digital transformation.

You and your talent

You are a pro-active team player with a strong mentality to get things done. You demonstrate the ability to persuade and inspire others while also having an aptitude for attentive listening and building connections. Additionally, you can lead by example while maintaining a healthy distance from both the team and Product Owner. You are enthusiastic, empathetic and open-minded. You support several squads by educating them and helping them continuously improve their (software) development process. You are self-aware; you know your unique qualities and how to use them as effectively as possible.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Educated at University level/Bachelor’s degree
  • You are an experienced certified (PSM1/PSM2) Scrum Master, with at least 3 years proven experience;
  • You have experience in guiding multicultural teams;
  • You have experience effectively intervening in both individual and group settings to bring teams to a higher maturity level;
  • You are familiar with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and solid development practices;
  • You have excellent communication and mentoring skills, and you focus on the scrum values of openness, honesty and respect;
  • You master the English language

Key advantages to the role:

  • You have experience coaching (large) High Performing Teams;
  • You have good skills and knowledge about servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency;
  • You have proven knowledge and experience as a developer, tester or business analyst;
  • You have preferably worked for a financial institution or in a financial environment.
  • Already located in the Netherlands
