You and your job

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Architect Operational Risk & Integrity Services (ORIS). You will take up the combined role of Tribe Architect for the Tribe ORIS and Area Architect for the Area Operational Risk Platforms within that same Tribe. You will be responsible for the target and transition architecture at Tribe and Area level that supports the move to standardized and scalable solutions to manage our operational risks and ensure integrity.

You will be working in a challenging international environment with the mission to develop simplified, shared, and integrated IT and data platforms that enable Rabobank to manage and oversee its non-financial risks and to safeguard its integrity.

Your architecture will, where applicable, be based on standard (COTS) solutions and shared Rabobank platforms and only deviates where material requirements cannot be implemented in a standardized way. The enterprise-wide scope will make this challenge even bigger.

In your role as Tribe Architect, you manage the tribe together with the Tribe Lead and Tech Domain Lead. You will work closely together with the area architect, with who you align the tribe vision, realize the architecture strategy & roadmaps, and contribute to the tribe purpose.

And in your role as Area Architect, you manage the area together with the Area Lead and Tech Lead. Here you will work closely together with the solution architects within the area, with whom you align the area vision, realize the architecture strategy & roadmaps, and contribute to the area purpose. 

You guide both teams towards the best results in a future-proof architecture, keep each other on their toes, and help each other where possible. You need to have the courage to challenge and develop yourself and your team. And because you don’t have hierarchical (HR) responsibility for the other architects in the team it’s all about your leadership and your collaborative and persuasive skills.

With your experience, insights, and skills, you will provide a great contribution to our business users; enabling them to manage and oversee the non-financial risk and to safeguard the integrity of our bank.

Practical examples

  • Manage completeness and consistency of the target architecture ORIS by aligning the Area target architectures.
  • Maintain the target platform architecture for Operational Risks with your team, business and IT stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Run the yearly Application Value Analysis to measure the business and IT health of the application portfolio of Tribe ORIS.

Key responsibilities

  • Together with the Tribe Lead and Tech Domain Lead you are managing and running the Tribe ORIS. You act in the role of Tribe Architect.
  • Together with the Area Lead and Tech Lead you are managing and running the Area Operational Risk Platforms. For this area you have the role of Area Architect
  • Developing the architecture and roadmap for the Tribe ORIS and the Area Operational Risk Platforms and steering the realization
  • Mentoring and coaching the area architect that is responsible for the Area’s Integrity Services and Information Factories & Products in the tribe ORIS as well as the solution architects within the functional line of the area Operational Risk Platforms within the tribe ORIS.
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments and maintaining a strong network in the market (vendors, competitors, fintech’s, biotech’s, research and consultancy firms)

The Tribe ORIS is one of the 8 Tribes that will be supported by business architects from Architecture Risk & Finance. This team of business architects shapes the architecture for Risk & Finance. The architects working for the tribe ORIS will work together in a functional team guided by you, the Tribe Architect ORIS, and are hierarchically reporting to the Managing Business Architect ALM & ORIS. The ORIS architecture team relies on the knowledge and capacity of a group of solution architects, part of the Tech department, that act as part of your virtual team. In your role as Area Architect, you will coach and guide the solution architects in the area Operational Risk Platforms.

You and your talent

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in relevant roles of which a minimum of 5 years of architecture experience in complex (international) environments; 
  • Common knowledge of operational risk in a banking environment
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms, and can influence and persuade others with an open mindset; 
  • Practical experience with architecture methods and techniques; 
  • You have a helicopter view: overseeing a wide domain and any consequences certain (design) decisions have; 
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business & IT leaders and colleague architects;  
  • You are comfortable in a leading role and can provide coaching and guidance to a team of Solution Architects

This is what we offer you

  • A gross salary of up to around € 100.000 per year, based on experience (scale 11)  
  • Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance 
  • An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings, or ask for (part of) the extra budget to be paid out. 
  • A personal development budget of € 1,400  
  • A combination of working from home and at the office 
  • A pension scheme to which you contribute 3.5% or 5,5%. Rabobank contributes 21,5% to the pension base.
