The Model Serving Platform (MSP) at Rabobank is at the core of getting machine learning models into production, that is, into the bank’s information streams - from financial reporting over risk figures to combatting financial fraud.

The newest ambition with the MSP will extend the existing capabilities to also cover high-performance and low-latency use cases to fight financial and economic crime.

Our teams of the Analytics Platform serve the MSP and the model’s lifecycle and we belong to the Tech 4 Data & Analytics domain which in turn belongs to the Chief Innovation and Technology Office (CITO).

Your Team:

The MSP is developed and run by 3 teams with more than 20 developers and business analysts, so you will start with a solid foundation of technology and experienced people. You will work in the team that focuses on building a high-performance platform. Each team is supported by Tech Leads, Product Owners, and Architects.

To Be Successful in This Role:

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of total professional experience, with at least 2 years in Azure cloud infrastructure and Databricks, as well as the ability to steer people on a technical level into the right direction. For the rest, you can rely on the Tech Lead, Product Owner, and Architect.

Technical Skills: Expertise in building and maintaining a high-performance ML platform primarily on Azure along with knowledge of Azure Machine Learning, Terraform, Databricks, and basics of network set-up (VLANs, etc.). Proficiency in Python, Spark, or SQL are a plus, but not required.

Machine Learning Knowledge: Understanding how to integrate existing models into a platform is highly desired to generate a smooth user experience.

Network Security: It's beneficial to have experience in network security and broader architectural knowledge to address security concerns and contribute to Azure-based solutions.

Team player:  We expect you to integrate quickly and well with the existing team, foster a culture of collaboration without boundaries, and assuming a technically leading position in the team. This occasionally includes steering technical discussions and teaching your colleagues about best practices.

Inquisitive Mindset: A willingness to ask questions, explore new ideas, learn new skills, and maintain an open and collaborative approach to problem-solving. Furthermore, you should be able to take the initiative, anticipate challenges, and actively seek opportunities to drive improvements.

Customer Focus: A dedication to understanding and meeting the needs of our internal stakeholders and the broader organization.

Your Responsibilities:

• Development, management, and maintenance of Azure infrastructure specifically tailored for high-performance machine learning and artificial intelligence applications within the Rabobank
• Utilize Terraform to build and manage infrastructure as code, ensuring scalability and reliability for machine learning projects
• Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning practitioners to provide infrastructure support for model development and deployment using Azure ML and Databricks
• Very good understanding of state-of-the-art DevOps processes, especially in the area of data science
• Apply your knowledge of network security to ensure the secure operation of our machine learning infrastructure
• Contribute to broader architectural discussions, leveraging your architectural knowledge to optimize solutions
• Guide your team when creating new solutions

A salary between €4,292 and €6,131 gross per month means up to €100,000 per year, including all benefits, based on knowledge and experience for a 40-hour work week (scale 9).
