Imagine taking a leading role in the development and continuous improvement of our central API Management platform within the bank.

You and your job

As Product Owner API Management you will lead a squad that delivers high quality API Management services to the entire bank by utilizing Kong API Management technologies. The Squad is primarily responsible for the development and adoption of API Standards and Governance. Along with enablement of API quality, security, reliability and compliance. Working together with the squad members you will align with stakeholders across the whole Rabobank Group, including our in-company API Community. Your focus is to improve the engineering journey by automating and extending our API services.

You will be part of Area Integration within Tribe Tech4Engineering. This is a domain within division “Engineering & Enterprise Tech”. A domain which focuses on innovation and continuously improving the engineering journey of our engineers within the bank. You will work closely together with your peer Product Owners within Area Integration responsible for other integration patters such as File Transfer, Event Streaming and MQ.

Top 5 responsibilities

• Development of API Standards and Governance around the future-state platform which aligns with principles of the Tribe (self-service, minimal cognitive load, standardized service a.o.)
• Align with our API platform vendor (Kong) around releases, support, roadmap and delivery of features
• Lead the squad on a day to day basis along the axis of prioritizing requirements, dependencies, risks, planning, refinement and present outcomes to stakeholders
• Adapt to changes and quickly respond by adjusting priorities based on evolving business needs
• Analyse metrics, data and foremost customer feedback: understand and make data driven decisions on enhancements

Your profile

• At least 3 years of previous experience as a Product Owner within a tech domain
• Preferably previous experience with API management and integration capabilities
• Excellent communication skills: presenting, writing, convincing
• You are able to perceive needs and follow up through pragmatic actions
• Ability to engage a wide group of stakeholders and communities in an efficient manner

• OpenAPI specs, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, XML, JSON
• Spectral, CosmosDB, Postman, Smartbear, PowerBI
• Azure Functions, Azure Pipeline Extensions, Typescript, Terraform (IaC)

• A gross monthly salary between € 4,292.40 and € 7.307,68 (scale 9 or 10), depending on experience, knowledge and education
• An 8% holiday allowance and a 13th month​
• An Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your gross monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out.
• 100% reimbursement of the costs of home/work travel if you travel by public transport! Do you still prefer to travel by car or motorbike? Then choose a home/work travel allowance.
• A combination of working from home and working from the office.
• A pension scheme to which you contribute 5.5%
• A monthly € 40,- nett work from home allowance, based on working from home 5 days per week.
• A monthly € 40,- nett internet allowance.
• An annual Personal Development Budget of € 1.400,-.
