You play an important role in protecting the bank’s balance sheet and steering the bank’s interest rate, currency and credit spread position. You and your job

Balance Sheet Management (BSM) is positioned at the heart of the Treasury organization and advises the Managing Board and Asset and Liability Committee on ALM topics. Within BSM the IRRBB&FX Strategy Team is dedicated to proactively manage and optimise the main banking book risks; IRRBB, CSRBB and FXTR, to have robust earnings and capital in different scenarios. The mission of the team is to navigate these risks effectively, enabling the bank to thrive in a dynamic financial landscape.

As a member of the team you therefore have a clear understanding of the key drivers of our balance sheet and relevant internal and external developments. We always seek to deeply understand what is driving our clients and how this interacts with financial markets and balance sheet developments.

You use these insights to define strategies in order to protect our balance sheet and stabilize earnings. Together with the other BSM colleagues you manage a EUR 600 bio+ balance sheet and have a large impact on the bank’s net profit levels and liquidity in times of crisis!

Projects/questions that you will be working on are definitely about:

• “How should we operate as a bank in the current volatile interest rate environment?”
• “What is an optimal investment strategy for our equity?”
• “How do we hedge FX risk of our foreign investments?”
• “How can we improve management of non-linear risks in our balance sheet?”
• “What will prepayments levels be going forward and why?”
• “Hoe does the deposit base look like in 2025?”
• “What will be the impact of new regulations on our activities?”

You and your talent

• Preferably a master in Econom(etr)ics or a related field;
• You have extensive knowledge of the dynamics of a balance sheet and more specific on IRRBB and FX risks in the banking book;
• A creative problem solver;
• Excellent storytelling skills to explain the complex issues to senior management;
• Solid project management skills, as well as networking and communication skills to act as a linking pin between stakeholders across the bank;
• Have a strong curiosity to “really” understand the underlying problem;
• You live & work in the Netherlands, have a EU or Dutch work permit.

This is what we offer you

• A contract for 40 hours within a stable organization;
• A gross monthly salary between € 5.161 and € 9.858 (scale 10-11 of the Rabobank CLA, based on 36-40 hours per week), strongly depending on your relevant work experience and seniority;
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance;
• 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport;
• A pension scheme to which you contribute 5.5%, with the yearly option to adjust it to 3.5%;
• Personal budget that you can spend on activities related to your personal development and career.
