Consultant Strategy Refinement

How is the world around us changing and how does this impact the Retail bank of tomorrow on a technological level? What initiatives are needed to continue to meet the changing wishes and expectations of our customers, comply with legislation and regulations and at the same time keep our cost manageable? How do we assure that we achieve the optimal balance between capacity and value? These type of questions will keep you busy as a Consultant Strategy Refinement.

You & your job

As a Consultant Strategy Refinement within the Strategy Refinement team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the One Retail NL tech change agenda and ensuring successful transformation. You are positioned within the Chief Product Officer domain within One Retail NL. This domain is responsible for the delivery of all One Retail NL product and customer journeys and the associated quality and costs. She prioritizes IT and operational activities across the various Product Tribes and Operations teams to balance business, tech and risk priorities for an optimal cost-benefit ratio for the bank.

The Strategy Refinement team is a new to be formed team and will be part of the broader Strategic Backlog Management team within the Chief Product Officer domain within One Retail NL. At first, the team will consist of a Lead Strategy Refinement and two Consultants Strategy Refinement, with potential for further growth.

Key responsibilities

• Play an active role in aligning the One Retail NL tech change requests and initiatives with our One Retail NL and Rabobank strategy and ambitions;
• Act as a bridge between the business and tech teams, you foster collaboration and translate complex technology concepts into understandable and actionable insights;
• Play an independent and objective role in analyzing and evaluating the Tribe backlogs. You translate the gained learnings and insights into a broader view on the One Retail NL tech landscape. You naturally do this in close collaboration and cooperation with involved parties;
• Collaborate with (cross-)Tribe and (cross-)Domain (leadership) teams to refine strategic change requests and initiatives. You’ll ensure these are effectively coordinated and prioritized within the relevant Tribes. To do so, you work closely together with various expertises such as Product, Tech and Architecture teams;
• Identify and drive innovative solutions to reduce costs while strengthening our Retail bank’s position within the European banking landscape;
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments within the Retail banking space and, if required, make sure key stakeholders are aware of these developments too;
• (Proactively) advise senior management on the One Retail NL backlog, architecture landscape and technological trends.

You & your talent

• University level master’s education;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate consultancy environment and/or strategical technology role;
• Affinity with IT, digital and retail banking. Experience with agile way of working is a pre;
• Able to transform complex information into small, accessible pieces;
• You are a strategic and analytical thinker, have a strong delivery profile and are eager to drive change;
• Possess strong (senior) stakeholder management skills and actively encourage collaboration;
• Excellent communication in Dutch and English is required.

This is what we offer you

• A gross monthly salary between € 4.292,40 and € 7.307,58 per month (scale 9 or 10, depending on knowledge and experience), a thirteenth month and holiday pay.
• Extra budget of 11% of your gross monthly salary that you can spend as you want. Buy extra vacation days, pay extra money into your pension or have part of the budget paid out.
• We maintain a hybrid way of working. This means that you both work from home as from our head office in Utrecht.
