You and your job
As Area Lead Shopping you play a pivotal role in contributing the success of the Tribe Payments and Savings and Rabobank’s mission and strategy. The area Shopping entails a broad variety of products, ranging from Cash, IDEAL, Wero, Open Banking, Mobility to Pricing and Billing. All challenging and diverse topics: a.o. accessibility of cash services, cooperation within Geldmaat, , responsibility for the migration of the Dutch iDEAL solution to the European successor Wero, growing Open Banking services and implementing a customer centric Pricing and Billing-tool. With ~25 product managers and ~8 IT teams, the area takes an E2E responsibility for these products. There is a strong focus on change, continuity, interbank activities, improving customer experiences and optimizing processes.
The Area ensures 24/7 availability of it’s products and related Area IT systems. Employees operate in the Crisis Operations Team (COT), and the Area Lead oversees the Crisis Management Team (CMT) when on standby.
In this role you will be reporting to the Tribe Lead Payments & Savings about agreed and realized goals, KPI’s, budgets and use of capacity. You will also be part of the Tribe Leadership Team, with whom you steer on our Payments & Savings strategy.
Your key results
- Developing and execution the strategy for Shopping;
- Prioritizing the Area backlog;
- Representing Rabobank in various interbank meetings;
- Customer satisfaction regarding all products, including pricing and innovations;
- Managing, leading and coaching the area and the underlying teams;
- Being in control and timely processing of: PGC reviews; laws and regulations;
- 24/7 availability of products and services;
- Wellbeing of the teams in the area;
- Ensuring the implementation of (new) laws and regulations and continuing to comply with existing laws and regulations, like the instant payment regulation and Payment Service Regulations.

- WO Master’s degree;
- Experienced manager and professional with over 10 years of relevant work experience;
- Professional knowledge and experience with private and business customer processes, including policy and legal aspects (CDD knowledge is required), and system support;
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English languages;
- Extensive knowledge of financial services, specifically payments; transactions
- Familiarity with payment transactions in the Netherlands and Europe, for both retail and business markets;
- Knowledge of product management and working together with CLR;
- Experience with large change projects in an international setting or a setting with multiple banks/companies;
- Understanding of risk management and risks related to FEC, products, and operations;
- Knowledge of Agile principles and the Simplify@Scale approach;
- Extensive experience with IT management and development processes;
- Experience in operating within complex and politically sensitive environments, with high demands for continuity and integrity from regulators, critical infrastructure, and various stakeholders at different senior management and executive levels;
- Experience in leadership of a broad, professional and divers team;
- Experience in (re)developing and establishing departments;
- Strong decision-making ability;
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Actively demonstrating the 4 dimensions of One Rabo Leadership: Personal, Team, One Rabo Culture and Cooperative.
