You and your job
Working as Business Analyst in area 'Banking-as-a-Service' you play a crucial role in designing and implementing IT solutions together with your DevOps squad. Of course everything aligned to business, IT and architectural requirements. As business analyst you‘re the linking pin between business and IT. In this position you will work on products related to the Developer Experience of our users, like e.g. the Rabobank Developer Portal (https://developer.rabobank.nl/) These products are key to achieve the ambitions of Rabobank Embedded Services. We want to grow and we need you to make our products and services ready for scale!
You will work in the area ‘Banking-as-a-Service’ where our day-to-day business focuses on building the platform of Rabobank Embedded Services. This platform contains everything needed to serve public API’s and other integration patterns of Rabobank. By that we can offer Rabobank products and services via third party platforms and ensure a smooth and safe integration of API Producers and API Consumers. A concrete example? A bookkeeping party who integrates Rabobank Payments API’s in their software so a Rabobank business customer can easily use Rabobank services in the bookkeeping environment directly.
Our Area consists of five multidisciplinary hybrid IT DevOps squads in an international environment. The squads bears an end-to-end responsibility for their products. This we do with an DevOps mindset; ‘you build it, you run it’.
At area ‘Banking-as-a-Service’ we support you in your career and development as professional. Besides a yearly development budget, there are many other opportunities to develop. You’re in the driver seat of your development, and we guide and support!
Practical examples
- Together with the UX designer and technical writer you will design the integration of a new API Documentation solution in the Developer Portal. You will lead the refinement process of this design and ensure qualitative and timely delivery of your squad.
- You’ve explained to your squad the requirements for a new analytics solution to implement in the Developer Portal. Now during implementation you need to support the engineers to solve impediments and manage dependencies with other departments in order to deliver the milestone in time.
- Your analysis shows potential improvements in the Sandbox environment for our customers. It’s up to you to convince your Product Owner to get the right priority on the backlog for these improvements.

- Collaborate with the Product Owner to identify customer needs and requirements to shape the new Developer Portal
- Translate business requirements to squad level, take part in the refinement and support your IT DevOps squad during the entire software delivery lifecycle.
- You analyze the customer journeys for developers and identifies impacts, gaps and improvements

You and your talent
To be successful in this role, you should find yourself in the following criteria:
- 3+ years of experience as Business Analyst in IT teams
- Experience with working in the area between business and IT
- You have an agile mindset and experience with working in scrum environments
- You have tech savviness and familiar with software development and IT delivery processes
- Great analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong collaboration skills with both IT and business people
- You’re a self-starter with a pro-active attitude
- You have a critical view on things, dares to speak up and challenge the status quo
- Experience with customer facing applications is a plus
- Experience with API products is a plus.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Kibana or PowerBI is a plus
