About the Role
As a Junior Banking Book Insights professional within Rabobank’s Early Career Program, you will play a key role in the MRBB Solutions & Reporting Expert Team, part of the Treasury ALM Tribe. Your main focus will be on forecasting Net Interest Income (NII) and measuring Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB). To achieve this, you’ll work with and further develop our balance sheet management tool, QRM, and its related processes. This position provides unique insights into Rabobank’s global balance sheet. Your work will directly support Treasury, Finance, Risk, and various decision-making committees, as well as external regulators. Operating from the dealing room of the Treasury department, you will be at the heart of the bank’s operations—a dynamic environment offering ample growth opportunities.
The Early Career Program (ECP)
During the 18-month Early Career Program, you’ll develop expertise in your role while receiving training to boost your technical skills. You’ll remain part of one team and will be paired with a buddy to guide you through Rabobank’s landscape. For your personal development, you’ll work with a Data & Analytics Development Consultant and participate in training sessions alongside other ECP starters. This program is designed to support your growth and prepare you for personal and professional success.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the quality and timeliness of regulatory reporting.
- Analyze the balance sheet and market developments, while exploring quantitative tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
- Collaborate and align frequently with stakeholders, including Balance Sheet Management (BSM), IT, Finance, and Risk.
Practical Examples of Your Work
- Streamlining the IRRBB/CSRBB reporting chain, from input data to regulatory reports.
- Setting up an intercompany hierarchy to enable portfolio-specific drill-downs and filters.
- Engaging with stakeholders to analyze Rabobank’s balance sheet in depth.
- Providing specifications to IT teams to ensure accurate QRM calculations.

You and Your Talent!
- A Master’s degree in Financial Economics, Econometrics, or a related financial field.
- Knowledge of financial market products.
- Affinity for working with numbers and analyzing data.
- Ability (or willingness to learn) to work with large datasets using tools like SQL.
- A “helicopter view” of banking processes and balance sheet dynamics.
- Pragmatic mindset with a structured, quality-first approach to delivering results.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and ready to tackle quantitative challenges without a sole focus on modeling or programming.

- Duration: 18 months
- Start Date: April 1, 2025
- Workweek: 40 hours
- Development Time: Dedicate 10-15% of your weekly working hours to training, development, and other activities.
- Community: Join Friday afternoon sessions at the office with other Data & Analytics ECP starters.
