Junior Analytics Translator (Early Career Program)

Are you ready to make an impact in the world of financial crime prevention? Join our dynamic and high-performing team as a Junior Analytics Translator.  This is your chance to combine technical insights with functional expertise to drive valuable improvements in our transaction monitoring models. Together with over 150 motivated colleagues, you will play a critical role in combating financial and economic crime. By accepting this job you qualify for joining in the Early Career Program (ECP).

Your Role as an Junior Analytics Translator

As an analytics translator you have a clear overview of the whole model for transaction monitoring and a good understanding of what is functionally and technically possible. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You ensure that valuable model components are developed and implemented effectively by working closely with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders. You will foster efficiency in processes and drive collaboration across teams. While you won’t be coding or analysing data directly, you will play a vital role in enabling and guiding those who do.

What You’ll Do

Act as a bridge between technical and functional teams: Brainstorm with data scientists, identify feature requirements for the transaction monitoring model, and communicate solutions clearly.

  • Process improvement: Optimize processes to ensure the efficient development and implementation of model components.
  • Be a key contact for projects and topics: Act as a single point of contact for specific projects, coordinate requests, and ensure timely and accurate documentation of technical and non-technical subjects.

Practical Examples of Your Work

Lead key processes: The model is sometimes re-scored on specific sets of historical data to resolve issues. One of our Analytics Translators is responsible for this process and integrates all technical and functional requirements, resolves bottlenecks, streamlines the process, and documents important decisions.

  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment: Changes to our IT platform can impact business stakeholders. They might not be able to identify which changes impact them, but an Analytics Translator does! You keep track of platform changes that impact model consumers and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous monitoring: Our model is continuously tested to track, identify and mitigate model risk. You understand what these risks mean and can translate them into acceptance criteria and work with data scientists to develop technical tests that allow for efficient monitoring.

Your Top 3 Responsibilities

Collaborate on feature development: Work with data scientists to brainstorm and specify new features and communicate these to the team and stakeholders.

  • Optimize processes: Continuously improve the processes that support data science work to ensure efficiency.
  • Be a key contact for stakeholders: Act as a central point of contact for key topics, facilitating workshops, coordinating requests, and managing stakeholder relationships.

Who You Are

You’re an enthusiastic, curious, and driven professional with a strong analytical mindset. You’re eager to take the next step in your career and have a passion for solving complex problems. You’re not afraid to navigate multiple projects and can clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • 0-2 years of experience as an analytics translator, business analyst, data analyst, or data scientist.
  • Academic degree in a modelling-related field (e.g., Data Science, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills in English, to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and business-focused approach with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Interest in data science and able to understand programming languages such as Python or SQL
