You and your future

During our Early Career Program, you’ll develop your career over 18 months by becoming an expert in your field. Throughout the program, you’ll stay with one team and receive training to enhance your hard skills. You’ll be paired with a buddy who will guide you in navigating the bank. For your personal development, you and your fellow starters will follow the Early Career Program and receive guidance from a Data & Analytics Development Consultant. We’re here to prepare you for your personal success!

RaboResearch

RaboResearch is the knowledge center of Rabobank, which enables our Dutch and international clients to develop and deepen their business insights and to make well-informed strategic decisions. RaboResearch consist of over 150 analysts, which are located around the globe, and focus on four different areas: Dutch Economics, Sustainability & Nature, Global Economics and Markets and Food & Agribusiness.

In order to support the analysis and research in those areas in a data-driven way, RaboResearch seeks to expand its pool of Data Scientists. These data scientist in RaboResearch will take data analysis to the next level. We work closely together with a very broad range of other teams and departments of the bank in- and outside of the Netherlands. Becoming a data scientist in RaboResearch will give you the opportunity to gain experience in every aspect of data science projects. In a typical day you could be working on data analysis and visualization, data engineering and big data development, modelling and creating prototypes, communicating with stakeholders and brainstorming with a range of different analysts.

In your work you will use different tools, including Python, SQL, Spark and Power BI. We strive for using the most modern tooling and methodologies whenever possible. To structure our work we use tools like Azure, DevOps, Databricks and Git. 

The role

As a data scientist, you collaborate with researchers on economic and social themes that are important to Rabobank. Think of the transition to a new sustainable and inclusive economy, broad prosperity, and financial health. You work on projects where Rabobank can make a difference and where you can fully utilize your data skills. The Regions Innovation Sustainability and Entrepreneurship (RISE) team of RaboResearch is your home base. You are also part of a community of data scientists in RaboResearch and may use your data science skills for other teams within RaboResearch. For example, to apply generative AI in research or to develop tools that other colleagues can use.

Practical Information

  • Program Duration: 18 months
  • The start date is flexible: April 1, 2025
  • Workweek: 40 hours
  • Personal Development: 10-15% of your weekly working time is dedicated to personal development, training, and other activities. The remaining hours are spent working within your team.
  • Friday Afternoon: Every Friday afternoon at the office together with our community of Data & Analytics ECP starters!

You and Your Talent

  • Educational Background: You have obtained a Doctorate (pré) or a Masters in (Quantitative) Economics,Econometrics, Data Science or a similar field.
  • Work Experience: Approximately 0-2 years of work experience.
  • Residency: Currently living in the Netherlands.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate quantitative analysis into comprehensive information for higher management and business users.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language.

This is what we offer you

  • A salary of € 3.844,44 gross per month (scale 7, 40 hours a week).
  • A 13th month's salary and vacation pay.
  • An Employee Benefit Budget (10% of your monthly salary). Employees may use this budget at their own discretion, for example, the EBB can be used to buy extra vacation days or to make an additional deposit in your retirement fund. Employees can also opt to have the EBB paid out to them as part of their monthly salary. 
  • A personal budget that you can spend on activities related to your personal development and career.
  • A combination of working from home and from the office.
