As the Area Lead for IT4OPS & Foundation, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technological backbone for customers, employees and engineers within Retail NL, focusing on automation for cost efficiency and robust delivery in Operations and Customer Service. You will manage cross-Rabobank platforms like CRMi, Pega, Delphi, Aris and Robotics, empowering thousands of developers. Innovation, especially with GenAI solutions, is key.

You & your job
As the Area Lead you will guide product managers and squads, managing diverse technology solutions for Retail customers and -employees. This Area holds group-wide responsibilities, such as external contracting vendor management, overseeing the Pega platform and process policy- and administration, etc. Three squads focus on content recognition using technologies like NLP and (Gen)AI, supporting Rabobank’s effort on (Gen)AI acceleration.

Your social skills will bridge technology and human interaction, driving innovation and transformation. You will design and source solutions that automate work, enhance cost efficiency, and improve employee satisfaction. Success requires broad technological support experience, your ability to envision the impact on employees, and the skill to maintain warm stakeholder relationships.

You will oversee crucial components of our IT landscape, like the Pega Platform and the CRMi interaction Platform, aligning stakeholders across the CITO organization. As the Area intends to increase the use of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, the lead will be more and more responsible for scoping, refining, and aligning organizational requirements with external suppliers and market developments. You'll keep a constant eye on innovation, make key buy and contracting decisions, negotiate terms and pricing, and help manage the strategic vendor relationships.

The Area Lead IT4OPS & Foundation reports to the Tribe Lead DCI and is part of the MT Tribe DCI.

Your key results

  • Responsible for strategy development, establishing and expanding the vision for the Area IT4OPS & Foundation within Retail NL.
  • Responsible for setting and realizing Area goals and priorities (backlog management) and managing the budget in accordance with set norms.
  • Responsible for continuity, maintaining and improving user friendly, high quality and (cost) efficient services and applications within the Area for the various departments and stakeholders.
  • Be the trusted partner for departments like Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, etc. that ensures that technology delivers on customer- and employee needs.
  • Driving innovation by identifying opportunities and translating them to scalable solutions.
  • Responsible for strategic alignments, contracting and cooperation with external partners and/or vendors (Pega, SAP, Software AG etc.).
  • Responsible for compliant services and applications within risk appetite.
  • Ensure sufficient exposure by being a thought leader and being visible within and outside Rabobank as an ambassador for technological developments in this field.

You & your talent

  • WO Masters Degree;
  • 10 years+ of relevant experiences in retail banking and corporate innovation;
  • Technological background or clear affinity with technology and innovation. Specially an interest in (Gen) AI and experience in working with people-orientated departments such as Operations and Customer Service;
  • Leadership experience, you foster a diverse and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and community engagement;
  • Experience with strategic vendor management and/or SaaS-enabled processes and systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and social skills;
  • Possess the following skills: customer focused, complex problem solving, professional collaboration and high level of change agility;
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English languages.

This vacancy is classified in scale SKA or scale SKB with a range of € 8.266,02 and € 13.984,45 (depending on education and experience).
