Transaction Processing Officer

Imagine working within the Trade Lifecycle Management (TLM) team, where several different activities are performed. TLM consist of department Collateral Management Operations (CMO), Corporate Actions  (CA) and Investigations.

As a Transaction Processing Officer in Trade Lifecycle Management, you will be principally responsible for sending/receiving margin calls and reply to calls from our counterparties. You work on a variety of investigation and resolution of breaks in the Collateral Management area. You will produce reports in such way that they can be used by other departments.

You will seek close cooperation with Trading desks within Markets and Treasury,  Operations, Legal, Compliance and Risk Management. You will work in a team that is the single point of contact for questions regarding aspects of margining and collateral. TLM CMO has broad product scope within Markets and Treasury, being Securities Finance, Repo and Derivatives (CSA) products traded bilaterally, via triparty as well as centrally cleared transactions. The combination of many different product types, contact with other desks and counterparties makes this a great position to learn about the Treasury and Markets environment.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Point of contact within Operations regarding Margin & Collateral
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Maintaining central overview of all margin calls and pledged collateral
  • Investigation and resolution of breaks in initial margin, variation margin and portfolio reconciliations
  • Daily margin/collateral reporting to designated departments
  • Daily break reporting regarding portfolio reconciliations to designated departments
  • Ensuring legal documentation is in line with processing systems
  • Prepare and maintain monthly MIS

In addition, you may be assigned tasks relating to Corporate Actions and Investigations

Within TLM Corporate Actions (CA) you will be dealing with all events that affect a company’s stock and bonds. TLM CA ensures that all involved parties, our traders and counterparties, are correctly and timely informed about both equity and bonds associated events and that all related the administrative processing runs smoothly. You can make a difference by working collaboratively to accomplish and execute the daily tasks while gaining an understanding of the “big picture” and adhering to established quality control and procedures.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Processing mandatory and voluntary corporate action events including the daily interpretation, monitoring, clearing and notification of these events
  • Processing and allocation of dividend and interest payments
  • Researching and responding to inquiries from internal business groups, agents/custodian, brokers, clients and other counterparties
  • Executing processes and controls in accordance with procedures, work instructions and policies
  • Escalating effectively to deal with bottlenecks, knowledge or barriers
  • Liaising within own team and internal stakeholders to ensure quality and productivity levels

Our Department

Financial Markets Services (FMS) is part of Global Service Centre operating from our head office in Utrecht. FMS supports all main Rabobank Wholesale and Rural office’s globally. We are the service provider to Markets and Treasury. The services provided include Transaction Processing, Confirmations, Transaction Reporting, Collateral Management and Investigations. The department focuses on managing a highly efficient process flow whilst managing and minimizing operational risks delivering excellent service to our clients. The department has a well-established and strong position within Global Service Centre, which strive to encompass the Rabobank value of being client driven, cooperative by connecting to society, professional and simplifying as well as responsible and taking ownership.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Global Service Centre is responsible mainly for the back office functions of Rabobank’s wholesale banking activities. We serve 22 countries and five regions and process the largest transactions for the biggest customers of the bank, The use of collateral is one of the most important ways of mitigate credit risk in derivatives and securities finance transactions.

  • (Extensive) knowledge of products and processes in (wholesale) banking
  • 2-5 years working experience in a similar environment
  • Proactive attitude towards tackling issues and solving breaks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Team player with flexible skills
  • Strong numeracy/analytical skills
  • Diligent individual able to be meticulous and precise
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Resilience, able to perform effectively under time pressure, when facing setbacks
  • HBO working, thinking level
  • Fluent in Dutch and English both verbal as written
  • Ability to further improve your knowledge of markets by taking exams
