The Teamlead Tuning and Testing is responsible for the Control Standards team “Tuning and Testing”. The ownership and execution of procedures and processes related to tuning and testing means that you are responsible for the delivery of advices and propositions of improvements to the TM rule set. You know how to balance efficiency and effectiveness of the TM rule set and you understand how to prioritise the proposed improvements. You are aware of the ever changing TM landscape and follow the market developments closely. You are leader and have experience with managing a highly motivated team of experts and you are not afraid of sharing your thoughts and propositions with senior stakeholders and convincing them with your vision and seniority.
You and your job
Preventing financial economic crime (FEC) is one of the key aspects for our society and our organization, and as a bank, we play a major role in this field. As Team Lead Tuning and Testing, you are part of the TM Control Standards department within the Transaction Monitoring pillar of the Financial Economic Crime organization. The Control Standards department for TM is vital in its contribution to our risk management framework. This team is responsible for ensuring that the bank complies with the applicable Wft and Wwft regulations and requirements set forth by Compliance and regulatory bodies across the globe. In this capacity, the team acts as the First Line of Responsibility in protecting the bank's reputation, financial assets, and customer relationships by preventing the bank from engaging in prohibited transactions and activities. Within the TM Control Standards department, you are part of the Tuning and Testing team, reporting to the Manager Tuning and Testing. Together with the Manager you play a crucial role in ensuring that possibilities for improving the efficiency and the effectiveness of the TM ruleset are identified, prioritized and implemented.
Your responsibilities:
- Prioritize quarterly actions as follow up of the Risk-Based Tuning & Testing Framework
- Design and implement tuning and testing activities related to TM business rules, applying industry recognised methodologies to determine opportunities for Rule Improvement to increase the rule efficiency and effectiveness
- Responsible for the end-to-end tuning and testing of the Rule Logic, including the documentation and providing rationales for tuning and testing decisions
- Able to develop, implement and maintain overall testing strategies related to Customer Segmentation Design;
- Able to develop, implement and maintain overall testing strategies related to the Hibernation of Alerts;
- Use data driven analyses to lead to new decision making related to testing and tuning activities
- Stimulate the development of Machine Learning in TM detection
- Work close with FEC Tech to ensure timely and effective implementation of tuning and testing activities
- Collaborate globally in a high complex stakeholder field with risk, compliance, operations, regulators and other key stakeholders to maximise regulatory compliance and benefits realisation.
- Providing clear direction and support to the team, ensuring that their work aligns with the bank's overall strategy and goals.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to a team of rule tuning and testing experts and encourage sharing of best practice
- Ensuring that the team has the necessary resources, tools, and technology to deliver on their responsibilities effectively.
- Providing coaching and development opportunities for team members of all teams, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on their responsibilities.
- Representing TM’s compliance to Wwft regards testing of the TM rule efficiency and effectiveness to internal and external stakeholders, including the regulator.
- Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the bank's AML/CTF program is aligned with industry best practices.

You and your talent
- Relevant Bachelor or Master’s degree
- You have at least 5 years relevant work experience in FEC preferably Transaction Monitoring
- Proven experience with Tuning & (Back)testing of TM Business Rules
- Preferably 1-2 years experience with leading a team or any other relevant leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience related to TM detection knowledge and how to test the efficiency and effectiveness of TM Business Rules
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the area of TM compliance and regulations, with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and emerging trends
- Be able to propose functional changes to parameters that have a positive impact on the efficiency of the Rules and how to further optimize Rules
- Develop and implement ideas for the optimization of rule tuning, rule testing, rule improvements and for getting better insights in our daily TM detection.
- Knowledge of international innovation and trends regards TM and tuning and (back)testing best practices
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to continuously innovate the tuning and testing framework
- A lean and agile mindset, problem solving skills, always seeking continuous improvement
- Above all; you have a positive presence and are ready to make a difference
- You master the English language in word and writing.
This is what we offer you
- Scale 10/11 with a maximum of €8.793,26
- Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance.
- An extra budget of 10% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
