You & your role

As Senior Tech Lead Engineering Services, you will shape the future of engineering at Rabobank by leading transformation in processes, technologies, and services. You will drive technical strategy and innovation, ensuring engineers are equipped with the right tools and support to deliver value from day one. Your leadership will foster a culture of proactiveness, ownership, and entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between what is available and what is needed to fully enable engineers within Rabobank. At Tech4Engineering, your leadership will empower over 8,000 engineers worldwide.

  • Transform existing tools into scalable, user-friendly and high-quality services that enable engineers to deliver business value from day one. 
  • Guide teams through the adoption of Managed Standardised Services (MSS) and the Nexa Service Store process. 
  • Advance DevOps and Simplify at Scale (S@S) maturity, embedding continuous improvement and engineering excellence. 
Facts & Figures 

40 hours per week

Lead a span of control of approximately 180 employees, including around 30 direct reports, fostering a strong engineering culture, and continuous learning. 

Within the organisation, you are a pivotal member of the Area Triangle Engineering Services (Area Lead, Senior Tech Lead, Business Architect) and the Sub-area Triangle Consumer Services, contributing to the strategic vision and IT roadmap of both the tribe and the area. 

Top Responsibilities 
  • Shape and execute the enterprise-wide cloud delivery strategy, aligning multi-cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with the broader Tech4Engineering vision and influencing long-term technology direction across the bank. 
  • Drive organizational transformation through advanced S@S/DevOps maturity, embedding engineering excellence into operating models and integrating delivery practices for continuous improvement at scale. 
  • Establish executive-level stakeholder engagement and governance, navigating complex political landscapes, influencing strategic decisions, and ensuring alignment across technology, business, and regulatory priorities. 
  • Ensure operational resilience and regulatory compliance, overseeing risk management frameworks, security posture, and financial stewardship to optimize cost and maintain control globally. 
  • Lead innovation and service standardization at scale, accelerating adoption of Managed Standardized Services (MSS), enabling onboarding processes, and driving modernization initiatives.

You & your talent 
  • Academic working and thinking level, proficiency in both Dutch and English at a business level 
  • At least 10 years of experience in similar roles within complex IT environments. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to weigh interests and risks alongside the business, bring sharpness to discussions, and constructively challenge colleagues. 
  • Strong influencing skills at the highest level, with a focus on broad stakeholder management, people development, and behavioural change.
