As an intern focusing on Market Risk in the Banking Book, you will have the chance to spot, examine, measure, and handle the bank's market risk. You engage in many projects, energetically using your market risk expertise. You communicate clearly with our stakeholders on matters concerning market risk.

Your job

As a Market Risk Intern, you'll help the ABN AMRO's Banking Book team manage risks. You will help gauge exposure to market risks such as interest rate fluctuations, credit spread changes, and currency exchange variations. You will assist with current processes and prepare risk management reports.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the validation of market risk reports and helping to communicate findings to management and stakeholders;
- Assisting in the review of proposals from the Assets & Liability Management (ALM) and Treasury department;
- Working together with departments like ALM/Treasury, Modelling, Reporting and the Grid, which implement changes.

You will also have the chance to join special projects. These will involve collaboration with bank departments like Asset and Liability Management, Treasury, and Modelling or ALM Grid. You will gain insight into market risk concepts and products unique to the bank. Additionally, you can broaden your understanding of risk management practices at ABN AMRO.

Your profile

We seek a candidate who is excited and driven, with a passion for learning and entrepreneurship, and great at socializing. You are analytically strong, fitted of seeing both the big picture and the smaller details. You can simplify difficult topics and strive to collaborate with peers and different departments.

Candidates for the internship need to fulfil the following requirements:

- University education (Bachelor or Master degree);
- An easy feeling for finance and/or risk management. Having a master's in finance or economics is not necessary. We welcome students with different fields, such as econometrics, engineering, physics, mathematics or social sciences;
- Appropriate extracurricular experience and/or experience abroad;
- No more than one year of work experience;
- You must communicate well in English, both spoken and written. We provide help for staff with reading challenges like dyslexia.
- Easy team player embracing diversity with a willingness to work hard to get the job done.
