Global Account Manager Information Security
At a glance
Information security topics make the newspaper headlines on a daily basis. Cyber security stories like those about the Lazarus Group in North Korea, the Pegasus tools from the NSO group or the revelations about Cambridge Analytica often trump the fictional storylines of James Bond movies. In this job, you will operate at the heart of these developments that impact everything from politics to business and even our personal lives. You will help ABN AMRO formulate an answer to the ever increasing cyber threats as part of a team that coordinates the bank’s information security efforts worldwide. If you have a strong interest in information security, you love working in a dynamic environment, and you have a natural ability to understand different needs and connect people, then we are looking for you!
Your job
As a global account manager information security, you are responsible for advising and empowering all business units to achieve a strong security posture. As Global Security Management, we are the gateway to the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) of the bank. We provide insight and give advice regarding all security products, services and teams within CISO. We are not the subject matter experts, but we connect the business to our colleagues who know everything about topics like authentication, data loss prevention or fraud. Also, we provide support when it comes to policies, standards and regulation and assure each entity within the group has a plan to resolve its issues, strengthen its foundation and improve its security posture. Subsequently, we empower the business to implement the relevant solutions and to constantly raise the bar. Knowledge sharing and cooperation are essential to be successful in this role. Security is not just a CISO topic, it’s everyone’s responsibility within the bank. An important part of your work is to advocate that philosophy and embed information security awareness and practices into all parts of the bank.
Some concrete examples of your work:
- Stakeholder management, both in The Netherlands and worldwide (from time to time, we will ask you to travel);
- First point of contact for the business and link between the Business, IT and CISO;
- Keeping a close eye on the latest developments within CISO and staying in connection with the CISO teams;
- Maintaining and developing a bank-wide security community for knowledge sharing;
- Empowering the business in developing and implementing an Information Security Plan;
- Explaining the impact of new regulations together with the Global Security Governance team;
- Discussing risk and audit items with 2nd and 3rd line;
- Explaining bank-wide security themes to the business and sometimes regulators.
Working environment
You become part of a team of five account managers at Global Security Management. You will have your own portfolio of Business Information Officers (BISOs) that work throughout the bank. You will be their first point of contact for all information security questions and you will help them connect with their fellow BISOs, to develop their knowledge and instruct them on implementing the latest security measures. You work in close collaboration with your fellow Account Managers and build a global security community together.
Global Security Management (GSM) is one of the teams of the Security Governance & Organisation (SG&O) department at CISO. This department consists of three teams with a total of 25 colleagues. GSM closely collaborates with the Global Security Governance team where our policy and governance experts work and the Organisational Support team that consists of consultants, risk experts, and support colleagues. We have plenty of activities to connect, there is always room for a laugh and we value new initiatives.
CISO appreciates its societal relevance. We have a mission to drive secure banking for our bank, our customers and for the society as a whole because we know that the work we do affects the safety and stability of our society and its institutions. CISO consists of approximately 400 colleagues who are mandated to ensure ABN AMRO’s information security worldwide.
