Are you a technical expert and a people person who wants to coach and inspire others? Then we are looking for you as a Chapter Lead Domain Architect at our Value Cluster Channel Services. Besides your own architecture topics and HR activities, you are also going to enhance the craftmanship of your Chapter members.

Within our Value Cluster Channel Services we have 3 GRIDs:

Digital Channels Personal Banking Grid (DCPB): every day colleagues work hard to develop and run the ABN AMRO App, Grip App and ABN AMRO Internet Banking. We strongly believe in Design Thinking and a DevOps way of working. This helps us to research the real problems of our customers and come up with the right solutions for them.

The Digital Channels Business and Wealth Grid (DCBW): digitally enables convenience, specialized knowledge and new offerings. By providing customer journeys that exceed the customer experience of new and existing Corporate & Wealth clients. This DCBW grid offers relevant propositions and services in the online channels (e.g. Internet Banking Business, Tikkie and other portals for these client groups) to new & existing customers and creates and enhances (specific segment) channel experiences.

The Digital Channel Capabilities Grid (DCC): ensures standardisation of channel components across AAB to increase efficiency and create a consistent and smooth customer experience. This grid is responsible for the design & development of generic channel components and further professionalisation of these capabilities. In this way DCC grid enables the Digital Channels Personal Banking, Digital Channels Business and Wealth grids to only focus on segment/journey specific development.

We are looking for Chapter Leads Domain Architecture for both the DCPB, DCC and the DCBW GRIDs.

Your job

As Chapter Lead, you will combine working as a Domain Architect, with your role as Chapter Lead. As a Chapter Lead Domain Architecture, you advise from a strategic vision the IT Leadership in the field of architecture, coaching your Chapter members on architecture craftmanship and taking care of HR activities.

As a Domain Architect, about 60% of the time you will work at architecture topics. These architecture topics will mainly be overarching topics at value cluster level.

As a Domain Architect you are responsible for the architecture support of all IT changes that are carried out within the Value Cluster/Grid. The complexity of the position lies in guiding and supporting the development teams (blocks) that require knowledge of the IT technological future. In addition to substantive knowledge of one of the grids, you must be aware of the Standards and Guidelines supplied by Enterprise Architecture (CADM), and you must also comply with them. You will be responsible for creating sustainable solutions that adhere to the Future State Architecture (FSA). It is your job to propose solutions that are supported by both the business and IT. You play an important role in implementing the bank's IT strategy.

The rest of the time you will manage your team. This includes:

- Coaching your Chapter members on architecture craftsmanship.
- Guiding personal development of the people in your team.
- Taking care of the HR processes to facilitate all aspects relating to recruitment and the on- and offboarding of employees, development and performance.
- Alignment with other chapters and your colleague Chapter Leads Architecture so we learn from each other and create a strong community of Domain Architects.
- Actively participating in knowledge gaining and sharing by hosting triangles, circles, communities and events.
- You actively informing the IT Leadership on the alignment you have with the CADM, CISO on the architecture vison and roadmaps.
- On a strategical level you mentor your team, do interviews and ensure that new employees are properly onboarded.
- Educating yourself and others with the right knowledges & skills.
- Create and foster a healthy working environment and a holistic culture for your Chapter.

Your profile

In terms of skills, we are looking for a Chapter Lead Domain Architecture who has strong knowledge of IT, business and HR.

Besides your Chapter Lead activities, you have as a Domain Architect in-depth knowledge of the relevant applications, how to contribute to fulfilling the business requirements and of the ABN-AMRO Architecture. You are keeping up to date with all the latest techniques on how to build online banking websites, and you can transfer this knowledge to the DevOps teams. Azure/AWS knowledge/software engineering background is very useful, and you are able to identify challenges early for our development engineers. You know how to move in the cloud Azure/AWS and know what challenges lie ahead for developers.

We are looking for candidates at university working level with at least 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years of experience in the function of a Domain/solution Architect with a great affinity for people and HR.



We are looking at a person with knowledge in following areas:

- TOGAF and ArchiMate (being certified, or becoming this, is an advantage)
- REST API
- UML
- Cloud technology Azure and or AWS hands on experience
- Security standards; user security and application security
- Java
- General knowledge of infrastructure, networks and databases
- Software architecture principles
- DevOps (mindset)
- Knowledge of Agile (Scrum) and Lean methodologies

Following competences are required
- Demonstrated architecture leadership experiences in a complex organization with multiple
business and IT lines
-Broad and strong understanding of mobile and internet applications
-Demonstrated ability to communicate with and manage stakeholders and bring your point
across.
-Ability to think in conceptual, strategic perspective without losing ground over
implementation and tactical impact
-Strong organizational sensitivity, able to manoeuvre in organizational maps/units and
understand their roles and interests.
-Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence, engage and align people in
cross-functional roles at all levels (stakeholder management)
-Knowledge and experience of architecture frameworks and the relationships between them
-Continuous learner with strong persistence towards completing tasks within timelines
-Experience with interpretations of business requirements on banking and user experiences
and transform them into a future proof solution.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage)
