Currently we are looking for an Integrated Risk Specialist with a focus on country risk to join our team. Someone who gets inspired and energized by tasks that start with retrieving information & data in an efficient and optimal way. Someone who can structure this input, followed by proper analysis, visualizations and main conclusions. Someone who can connect the dots and is able to translate and present strategic advises resulting from the analysis towards Senior Management and – in doing so – generate impact for the bank. Although your initial placement will focus on country risk, you will be part of the larger Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Network with domains that are characterized by working with data analysis (IFRS impairments, Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis, Strategic Capital Allocation, RWA advisory, Economic Capital Advisory, etc.). You will facilitate senior management to define an appropriate response to the material risks faced by the Bank. Based on our deliverables we contribute to informed strategic decisions and by that in defining and controlling the Bank’s strategy. The way of working of the ERM Network offers the opportunity to share your knowledge and contribute to the deliverables of CRM in a broader context. At the same time it offers you the opportunity to learn more about the wider set-up of risk management.

Your profile

You are a team player who is eager to learn and strives for quality. You are able to understand complex cases and can communicate the main points clearly. You are able to switch from a bird’s eye view to your eye for details, and you know when and how to ask for more information. Additionally, you have a good sense of humor.

Check your profile:

  • University degree;
  • 3-5 years of work experience;
  • Affinity with Risk including credit analysis, Macro-economics, Finance or the (Banking) business, proven track record on data handling and translating in excellent visualizations of strategic conclusions / advices following the analysis of the underlying data;
  • You are entrepreneurial, proactive, thorough and you have a practical mindset;
  • Quantitative and complex problems give you energy; and
  • You are flexible and able to work with deadlines.

Your job

The ERM Network within Central Risk Management consists of a group of around 75 professionals that are involved with maintaining the strategic risk profile of the bank. We deliver high quality products for our internal and external stakeholders and provide advice to facilitate decision making process. You will have a primary focus on Country Risk and thereby:

  • Contribute to maintain an up to date Country Risk Policy and Country Risk Appetite;
  • Assist in organizing a regular (bi-annual) country limits review process involving requests from Business Lines and analysis from Group Economics and Security & Integrity Management;
  • Decide within delegated approval or otherwise advice about transactional approvals if outside existing country limits;
  • Participate in leading Country Event Meetings that take place after a country event such as abrupt macro-economic changes in a country;
  • Establish and maintain rules & procedures for country risk exposure measurement and recording;
  • Regularly report country risks to senior management and regulators including impact on the bank of geopolitical risks; and
  • Contribute to other teams that coordinate bank wide themes like Enterprise Risk Management, Internal and external reporting, Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Economic Capital (EC), Stress Test, Risk Appetite and ICAAP.

As all the risks are part of the integrated risk view, we have a good overview of the total risk profile of the bank. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and work on one or several products. You will be provided with a knowledge intensive working environment.
