At a glance

We are looking for an additional colleague in the Data Management team of ABN AMRO’s Model Ownership & Data Management Department (MODM) department. The main role of this department is to act as owner of credit risk models and RWA implementation from a 2nd Line of Defense perspective. Within the MODM department our Data Management team oversees and manages the governance of the data in relation to this role. In particular your role is to help identifying issues in the data governance and practical organization of data ownership. You coordinate the process for resolving data quality issues. Together with your colleagues you spell out definitions for data attributes and requirements within this context. To fulfil your role you will need a sound understanding of the CRD/CRR framework, a view on the governance of data, as well as hands-on experience in setting data requirements.

Your job

As a Regulatory Expert within the MODM department, you will help Credit Risk in providing insight, and improving the quality of the data that the department uses to inform, to report and to steer.

  • You will have oversight of the risk reports, risk indicators and financial data, and understand how data in the business leads to the reported values. You keep oversight of the risk processes and understand the relation with data and the business.
  • You will support Credit Risk with the Initiation, Onboarding, and setting up of Data Requirements which result from new regulatory requirements, running bank wide programs, changes/Improvements and new developments
  • You will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of Functional and Technical Documents, minimum standards and related processes for credit risk data
  • You will support the process of Data Sourcing together with validation and approval of the received data in line with the defined requirements
  • You will be responsible for setup of Data Quality requirements and support Data Quality issue management for strengthening credit risk data delivery and ensure BCBS239 Compliance.
  • You will play a key role in supporting and assigning the ownership of reference data, owned by Credit risk department, including onboarding into the Enterprise Reference Data system and ensuring regular maintenance of the contents and the metadata.

Working environment

The MODM department comprises of five teams, of which the Data Management team is one. The other teams focus on the ownership of pillar I credit risk models, the organizing implementation, and setting requirements to this end. MODM is part of the Credit Risk division, which forms the 2nd Line of Defense of credit risk management. With the Credit Risk division, MODM is one of the shared capabilities, which means that we are aiming to share knowledge with other departments. In particular we support our colleagues in setting out data requirements and organizing data management. The vacant position offers opportunities to develop your knowledge of the CRD/CRR framework in a focused context on data quality and data management.

Your profile

  • Do you have an academic education in a relevant field?
  • Are you a fast thinker that can work on detailed questions as well as overarching challenges?
  • Do you have 7-12 years working experience in a relevant position?
  • Are you knowledgeable in the CRD/CRR framework?
  • Do you take ownership in a team and would you like to develop further develop yourself?
  • Are you experienced in setting data requirements and organizing data management?
  • Do you have excellent communications skills, especially in writing? (fluency in English is required)
  • Are looking forward to stakeholder management and interactive discussions?
  • Do you have the competence the oversee data governance and understand data management?
  • Are you able to translate prudential requirements into data requirements?
