Your job

The Solution Designer Roles and Responsibilities include designing the essential core building block's that make up a technical solution. This means producing a modular and flexible design that meets the business requirements. The Solution Designer Role is responsible for the overall integrity of solution so must have knowledge of existing system set, the banks overall systems strategy and any applicable IT standards. Solution Designer roles and responsibilities are generally focused around designing a solution that is as elegant, optimized, modularised and reusable as possible, ensuring the design is flexible and extensible.

Solution Designer will be part of an Agile/Scrum DevOps team and has end-to-end responsibility, on behalf of the business and clients, for developing, managing, and maintaining functionalities in the Credit Risk Administration area, which are prioritised by the product owner.

Within sprints, you participate in all team activities (such as stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives) to ensure your progress is transparent. You work with your team to determine how you can ensure qualities (knowledge and skills) are—and remain—sufficiently present within the team.

  • Guide on the effective use of solutions and architectures in order to achieve business outcomes in alignment with business requirements and the overall Enterprise Architecture
  • Provide E2E solution architecture design
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and support delivery outcomes
  • Collaborate with other Architects for successful delivery of program streams and individual projects
  • Uphold the architectural governance principles and good implementation design for architectural deliverables
  • Contribute to the effective management of risks and issues associated with Solution designs

Credit Risk Administration Service (CRAS) is part of the grid Corporate Credits within ABN AMRO. It is a future-proof application, moving to latest Cloud technology. It is a relatively young product offering (5 years) that ABN AMRO wants to grow by adding new features and products in the next years. You will play an important role in realising this ambition with your team.

The current Goal of the CRAS system in the context of Credit Risk is to:

  • Administrate Credit Risk related information generated as a result of Credit Origination, Maintenance and Credit Risk Monitoring
  • Act as Data Supplier for Credit Risk Portfolio Monitoring, Risk Modelling & Regulatory Reporting - “Golden Source”

Taking a glance at our IT landscape: CRAS includes 4 scrum blocks currently and has a variety of platforms and technologies:

  • Home build Java applications currently getting migrated to Azure
  • Online and Batch workloads in nature
  • Usage of scheduling tools for Batch workloads
  • RESTFUL and SOAP Web Services

  • Banking domain knowledge especially in the area of Credit Risk Administration
  • Business Analysis skills
  • Application Designing

  • Designing and Modelling REST services

Do you think you're a fit? Check your profile:

  • 3-7 Years of experience in Solution Designing (Majorly for in house-built applications)
  • Architectural understanding, ability to learn new technical concepts fast
  • Knowledge on designing applications on Azure
  • Experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST API, CI/CD is a plus
  • Curious for technology and solution designs
  • Skills to grow the Solution Design community

Certifications (Nice to have)

  • ArchiMate Foundation
  • AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals
  • ITIL4 Foundation
