Financial Controller

What will you be doing as a Financial Controller:
As a financial controller you will be involved in and gain knowledge in accounting, controlling, reporting internal and externally and other various areas of the operations within Handelsbanken, through close co-operation with the entities within the Netherlands and other entities within the Group. This will give you a good network and a good foundation for a successful career in the Bank.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Monthly production of balance sheets, income statements and off balance sheets;
- Daily overview and control of the financials;
- Monthly accounting and reporting to Handelsbanken Group finance and external regulators;
- Implementation of new accounting policies, which includes liaising with Handelbanken Group and implementation in the general ledger;
- Inclusion in projects, ensuring the accounting policy is taken into consideration when developing new, or updating, functionality and products;
- Analysis and presentation of the financial statements;
- Management reporting and analysis to various stakeholders;
- Internal capital cover distribution and analysis;
- Distribution of costs of capital to the branch network;
- Education of employees in these areas and answering questions from the branches;
- Other financial accounting and controlling tasks;
- Support and back-up for colleagues of the finance department;
- Run efficiency initiatives, ensuring Finance as a function works as effectively as possible.

- Processing, investigating and understanding financial transactions and keeping up with new accounting and regulatory requirements;
- Developing and producing management reports enabling the business to take informed strategic financial decisions;
- Creating value by optimizing processes for efficient and effective finance operations.
You recognize yourself in the following:
- You have demonstrable relevant experience with accounting and regulatory requirements of a bank and from other financial positions such as Analysis, Controlling or Capital Management is an advantage;
- You have a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (HBO/WO) work and thinking level;
- You have a good knowledge of MS Excel and basic knowledge of MS Access;
- You are highly organised, methodical, have a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines;
- You have excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written as you are expected to be able to analyse and present complex issues in an easily understandable way;
- You are able to express yourself professionally to colleagues, customers and stakeholders, both verbally and written in Dutch and English.
