At a glance

Are you a technical expert and enthusiastic person who likes to work in a team and wants to coach and inspire others? Then we are looking for you as Reliability Engineer, to make ABN AMRO a personal bank in a digital age!

Within Channel Services, we work hard every day to develop and run ABN AMRO Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app and strongly believe in the DevOps way of working. Our RET CX Team connects teams, grids and domains to improve the full E2E chain of a product. One of our strategic goals is to become data-driven, so we can get to know our clients even more and serve them in a better way.

Your job

As Reliability Engineer RET CX, you will be consulting in Reliability, Resilience, Availability and Tools with focus on the continuity of Internet Banking (IB) applications and their up- and downstream relations.

You will be working in one of the most dynamic areas of our bank, where change is constant and availability is key. You are contributing to good quality and future proof IT solutions.

Your core tasks: Consultation on a variety of subjects, spanning from incident management, problem solving, dashboarding, reporting to internal and external stakeholders up to ensuring that the NFRs are applied, and ensure that the deliveries meet the acceptance criteria from a reliability perspective. You feel the need to think along with technical or architectural decisions and challenge others to get to the best solutions.

Above is not only applicable to you own applications, but you will also have a pro-active mindset and mentality to dive further in the chain of applications, services and people to help and create a resilient landscape for your applications.

Working environment

At ABN AMRO, we strive to be a personal bank in a digital age. Within our grids, we work on this strategy every day, and we do that in a DevOps environment. We strive that our customers can work fully digital, on their computer and phone.

On a daily basis you work together inside and outside your team with developers, QAs, designers and product owners. You are the expert in Reliability Engineering but also get energy to make sure your fellow engineers become experts. Together with the other experts in your field of expertise you create vision and strategy. You will work in a fast paced and accessible environment. We love to share knowledge and to challenge each other, for example by sharing our expertise in blogs or during the events of our communities.

We regard hybrid working as the new normal. This gives you the flexibility to decide when and where you can work most comfortably and effectively.

Your profile

You feel at home in a technical environment and are always up to date on the latest technologies. At the same time, you are people minded and a tactful inspirator. IB applications are both on Azure as well as on premise environments so related experience is an advantage.

Even more important is the drive to gain new knowledge, and develop yourself as an expert, consultant and continuous improver.

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, or 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, System Engineering or Software Quality Assurance
  • Strong experience with public cloud solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Understand and act upon the Devops values (Collaboration, Communication, Transparancy, Innovation and Freedom)
  • Willingness to educate yourself and others with the right technical capabilities and the latest developments in your area of expertise.

We are offering

  • The opportunity to be the best you can be, work flexible hours and lots of room to grow both personally and professionally
  • The opportunity to pro-actively work on your vitality and fitness
  • A supplementary benefit budget of 11%, which you can spend on additional fringe benefits
  • A personal development budget of EUR 1.000 per year
  • An annual public transportation pass or travel budget, depending on the function
  • A solid pension plan
