Our data warehouses play a vital role in this strategy and are a cornerstone for business insight, economic reporting and regulatory compliance.

For our agile DataWarehouse DevOps team, we are seeking a team member to fulfill the Scrum Master role in combination with other DevOps team activities like BI development or system management, where the focus is more towards system management than development due to the current team composition. This international team is responsible for the data warehouses of Handelsbaken Netherlands and Poland, using tools and techniques based on the Microsoft stack. The team covers the BI workload from Data Ingestion (ETL) to visualization and soon will be part of a SAFe Agile Release train.

The team members are located in Amsterdam and in Stockholm. The scrum master role will be Amsterdam based, which is where the main business needs come from. In this role, you will work closely with the Agile Product owner in Amsterdam, with the developers in Amsterdam and Stockholm and with the operational support and infrastructure departments of our IT organization in Sweden.

What will you be doing:

Your primary responsibility is helping the team to meet their delivery goals using Lean-Agile working practices and methods. Practically, this means that you will be facilitating PI planning, supporting iteration execution, improving flow, building a high performing team and improving Agile Release Train performance. In addition, you will be working with your team and other stakeholders on the continuous development and operations of the Data Warehouses of the Netherlands and Poland. You will also be responsible for:

  • Coordinating in case of incidents or crisis situations related to the two data warehouses, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.
  • Ordering (virtual) hardware and software, permissions and system connections for users and developers to perform their tasks. For example, ordering of applications, firewall settings, file exchange configurations or access to Azure Devops via the Handelsbanken internal ordering system.
  • Remaining informed about upcoming changes that may affect the data warehouses and proactively involving the team members to enable the team to prepare for them in a timely manner.
  • Together with the team identify, schedule and execute maintenance and support tasks like life cycle management, backups procedures and systems, system documentation and continuity planning.
  • Contributing to the organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning.

This is what we offer you:

  • A salary of minimum €3.440 and a maximum of €5.900 gross per month, based on a 40-hour working week. The final salary depends on your knowledge and experience,
  • A 13th month and 8% holiday pay. You can choose to have this paid out per month.

Your profile:

  • You are eligible to work in the Netherlands, as we don't offer visa sponsorship.
  • 2+ years experience as a scrum master / team coach.
  • DevOps experience in the field of (financial) Data & Analytics.
  • Knowledge of database management (SQL).
  • Knowledge of BI, data warehousing and Dimensional modeling (Kimball).
  • Knowledge in any of the following areas is considered a plus:
    • Microsoft BI stack (SSIS,SSRS)
    • T-SQL
    • Jira/Confluence
    • SonarCloud experience
    • SAFe Agile
  • Hands-on experience with Azure/CD-CI/Devops/Git.
  • Service- oriented working style with high customer focused mentality.
  • You are intrinsically motivated, independent and goal-oriented with a desire to contribute to the advancement of the IT team in the Netherlands.
  • You like to work within a team where you can add value to the success of projects and a more positive atmosphere in the team.
  • The ability to work with people at all levels in the organization. You feel comfortable communicating with both business and with IT specialists.
  • knowledge of financial applications (like core banking applications, account, payment or mortgage related systems) is a plus.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills. Dutch would be a plus.
