Your job

As a BCBS239 Program Manager, you will be enabling our Finance & Risk stakeholders to execute and adopt BCBS239 & ABN AMRO Bank’s Data Management Framework. Purpose hereof is to contribute to having complete and fit-for-purpose data within the Bank, to improve Data Compliance for Finance & Risk Reports and Models, be able to implement Data Quality on our most Critical Data Elements and trace the Data Lineage of this Critical Data.

You do so by following the centralized Data Governance processes as defined in our Data Risk Policy and its Standard, as well as the BCBS239 requirements / Principles, including developing more detailed Guidelines which are specific to the Finance & Risk architectural landscape. You will also be responsible to manage the BCBS239 Program team, track and monitor the execution of this implementation, ensure constant alignment with Finance & Risk stakeholders, build Management Information Dashboards and report to Finance & Risk Management Teams as well as our Executive Board.
Additionally you will be expected to actively contribute to sharing knowledge about BCBS239 & the Compliant Data Management Way of Working.

Next to your contextual tasks and responsibilities, you provide direct leadership to 8+ employees (Senior/Junior Business Consultants), guiding them in their personal development and career growth.

You will directly contribute to the following deliverables:

  • Monitoring the progress of the BCBS239 implementation, and raising escalations, impediments & dependencies (whilst ensuring accountability is assigned to action owners),
  • Maintaining the JIRA / Azure hygiene in a project management mode,
  • Supporting the Finance & Risk stakeholders (group-wide) in the BCBS239 implementation and align with the execution teams within the Data Governance & Compliance department,
  • Developing Guidelines & templates to be used by our F&R stakeholders,
  • Reporting on the progress to the Finance & Risk MTs, ExBo and the ECB-DNB,
  • Proposal for improvements on the Compliant Way of Working and processes, and implementation of the same,
  • Providing knowledge sharing sessions to F&R stakeholders.

We are searching for someone who can effectively tackle the challenge of managing Finance & Risk BCBS239 implementation in a sustainable way that aligns with the bank future proof strategy!

Working environment

The Data Domain Finance & Risk is part of the Finance & Risk Business Grids (within Finance), and plays an active role for all the Finance & Risk departments. We employ 200+ staff, all of whom share a passion for getting the most out of Finance & Risk data. Our aim is to generate reliable F&R data on time. We do this by improving the F&R data itself, data systems and data processes.

You will work in the Data Governance & Compliance department, by managing the BCBS239 Program and also having a direct leadership role. Like the other teams, yours will largely consist of young, driven professionals. The atmosphere is open and informal. We work hard, but there’s plenty of room for enjoyment!

You are a hard-working professional with an eye for detail. You are able to execute assignments independently as well as interact directly with stakeholders when it comes to day-to-day matters.
If you think this sounds like you, check to see if your profile matches the following:

  • You’ve successfully completed a higher professional education (Bsc.) or degree (Msc.) and have at least 10-12 years of relevant work experience
  • You have knowledge of data management best practices (e.g. DAMA)
  • You are experienced in data management and/or Finance and Risk management Reporting (prior experience with BCBS 239 is a strong plus)
  • You are experienced with regulations and regulatory requirements
  • You have affinity with banking, Finance & Risk Management, Reporting & Modelling
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management
  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced, change environment with deliverables and tight deadlines
  • You are familiar with the Agile way of working
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Dutch is an advantage),
  • Powerpoint / word skills are a must
  • You have great people management skills
  • Proactive nature and attitude to identify better solutions and to implement them

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
