Immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of Tikkie and see how you can make a meaningful contribution to our vibrant fintech environment.

We are Tikkie

Tikkie is more than just an application; it's part of Dutch culture and the leading free finance app in the Netherlands. We began as a start-up initiative by ABN AMRO and have since transformed the payment landscape in the country with our easy, fast, and fun payment functionality.

Today, Tikkie has evolved into a multifaceted platform, with our organization scaling up to include a dedicated team of over 70 individuals. Together, we aim to transform our customers' needs into scalable, high-quality products that consistently exceed user expectations.

Your job

As a Senior Back-end Developer, you will be a member of one of our agile scrum teams. Your day-to-day tasks will involve active participation in daily scrum meetings, driving the team's progress towards the sprint goal, and significantly contributing to the strategic direction of our development projects.

Your role will be centered around the development and enhancement of our app, focusing on addressing and resolving complex user stories. You will work closely with your team to develop innovative features and ensure a smooth user experience for our users, thereby improving the overall functionality and performance of our app.

Your expertise and knowledge will allow you to lead in exploring and mastering new technologies or frameworks, keeping not only yourself but also your team, at the forefront of technological advancements. As a senior developer, part of your role is to share this knowledge, mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative and learning-focused team environment.

Your profile

  • You have extensive experience with micro-services and event-driven architecture, especially on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS/Postgres, ECS/EKS, Kafka, Firehose)
  • You are proficient with Go on AWS Lambda, Java/Spring in containers and Typescript for CDK (Even if you haven't worked with Go on AWS, this is not a dealbreaker. If you have experience as a software engineer, you should be able to pick this up in a month or two)
  • You have exceptional communication skills, actively participate in meetings, and can effectively communicate complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical team members
  • You have experience guiding junior developers and creating opportunities for them to contribute to large-scale projects
  • You have a strong architectural vision and the ability to assess the impact of changes on the overall project, predict potential issues and devise solutions
  • You have a proven ability to work effectively in a team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment, as well as providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • You are eager to challenge the status quo, innovate, and continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and changes
  • For this open position, it's highly desirable that you have experience in a start-up environment, ideally within fintech.
  • You have experience with financial services, which is a valuable asset

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
