You help realise the delivery of the ABN AMRO Strategy: a Personal Bank in a Digital Age. You ensure that the entire bank follows the correct route towards a fully data driven organisation. From shaping new concepts to designing and guiding data management initiatives. You are able to quickly submerge yourself in a brand-new initiative, shape, socialise and ensure it is properly anchored for successful execution.

Your job

You are part of the Data Governance department with the focus on Data Strategy. This team sets direction to shapes new concepts, and leads strategic Data & Analytics initiatives. We are looking for a seasoned expert on Data Management (incl. Analytics & AI) that is able to translate our data vision into reality. Some examples of your responsibilities:

  • Spot external trends and internal drivers for change
  • Act as a sparring partner for the Head of Data Governance and Chief Data Officer
  • Maintain and further develop our bank-wide Data & Analytics Strategy
  • Lead transformational change related to Data & Analytics (like driving the implementation of the Federated Data Governance Model bank-wide or the implications of the AI Act)
  • Steer, inspire and influence stakeholders across the bank on all levels (incl. subsidiaries and international branches)
  • Set target operating models to aid data execution (e.g. clarify roles & responsibilities of teams and work packages)
  • Strategy planning to define a plateau plan in alignment with our bank strategy
  • Develop and prepare executive decision making for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board


Your profile demonstrate clear experience in the field of Data & Analytics, with a solid track record of consulting and leading complex programs. You are a leader that is result-oriented, data-driven, self-steering, thrives best in bringing clarity in challenging situations, and is highly collaborative to ensure buy-in in the direction.

Working environment

You operate in the following organisation:

  • You are part of the Central Data Office – Data Governance – Strategy & Design team
  • You interact with other departments in the Central Data Office to ensure direction is clear and set
  • You interact with Data Domains to implement the Data Strategy direction
  • You interact with stakeholders throughout the bank to strengthen alignment with bank-wide Data & Analytics initiatives (like data regulations, Future State Architectures, Strategy Refresh exercises, etc.)

Your profile

Your profile

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in leading company-wide implementation of Data Management and Analytics & AI initiatives
  • Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics or related roles
  • Experience in business consulting preferred
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • You are familiar with DAMA DMBOK, Data Mesh, BCBS239, AI Act, BABOK, etc.
  • Self-steering
  • Result-oriented
  • Data-driven mentality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across departments and disciplines

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
