As Regulatory Advisor you are, together with your colleagues in the Global Regulatory Affairs team, the linking pin on regulatory (related) topics between the Management Board and the external stakeholders, including regulators and legislators, and internal stakeholders, including the ABN AMRO group.

Your job

Join our Global Regulatory Affairs Team as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist. You'll be a key advisor on regulatory topics, helping to shape and monitor our engagement with supervisory authorities. Your insights will guide strategic decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse political and regulatory changes impacting AACB.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic advice to Senior Management.
  • Develop and execute advocacy strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory and external engagements of the Management Board.
  • Document and communicate with supervisory authorities.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and other relevant departments.

Working environment

At ABN AMRO Clearing, you play a crucial role in settling transactions for our clients. We act as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges they trade on, taking over the risk and reconciling orders. We process approximately 18 million transactions daily for professional traders, investment managers, and large corporations.

Your profile

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance and implementing regulations within the bank. You have a passion for understanding complex regulations and translating them into practical solutions for our organization. You will work closely with various departments and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.


What you bring:

  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and supervisory environment of banks, or a genuine interest in familiarizing yourself with it.
  • Skill in building and maintaining a relevant network inside and outside the bank.
  • Ability to work across business lines and at an international level.
  • Experience in writing policy documents and making complex matters comprehensible to stakeholders.
  • University-level work and reasoning skills with at least three years of experience in the financial industry or regulatory affairs.


In this role, you will collaborate closely with diverse teams to ensure our bank complies with all relevant regulations. You will be involved in coordinating implementation projects and drafting policy documents that support our strategies and processes. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
