As a Senior Model Risk Auditor you will be part of Group Audit, the global ABN AMRO audit department team, consisting of 140 audit professionals, that execute complex audits in a fast paced and changing organisation. Your observations will lead to a balanced opinion and impactful key messages to senior management. Your views are appreciated and help the bank to move forward.

Within Group Audit, the Risk Management audit team focusses specifically on providing assurance and insights in respect of ABN AMRO’s second line of defence processes. The Risk Management team covers all risk types including Model Risk, which is an extremely relevant yet highly complex area of expertise. As Senior Model Risk Auditor you will drive our efforts to ensure the robustness and reliability of our financial models, safeguarding our organization's future.

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. focuses primarily on the North-Western Europe market and offers services to Personal & Business Banking, Wealth and Corporate Banking clients. Different products and services are offered ranging from straightforward payment products to (more complex) lending products such as personal loans, mortgages, business loans and leveraged finance. Also financial advice, clearing, personal banking and digital services are offered. All these activities form part of the audit universe and offer a diverse and complex environment for you to develop, excel and display your audit skills.

Working within the Risk Management audit team you will be based in Amsterdam, working in a balanced hybrid mode between the ABN AMRO Head Office and your home office. Group Audit is looking for a qualified Model Risk audit professional (at least 5 years of working experience with model risk management auditing, or related roles within the financial services industry). You have a university degree (at least Master’s) in Econometrics, Mathematics or another quantitative topic, and preferably a recognized audit certification (RA, RE, RO or international equivalent such as CIA). You have a strong moral compass and act in accordance with the standards of the bank as well as the various professional associations. Furthermore, good programming skills in e.g. Matlab/ R/ Python/ R / SAS are appreciated. You also have affinity with ABN AMRO's strategic objectives.

Furthermore as ideal Senior Model Risk Auditor candidate:

• You are capable of working independently and within a team. You are expected (in consultation with your audit team) to come to a balanced opinion and to clearly communicate the audit opinion to the auditee. You independently write reports in which the situation found, identified shortcomings and underlying root causes are clearly expressed;
• You have a curious mindset, eager to learn and take initiative. You are a strong communicator, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, in order to bring balanced assurance messages and value-adding insights;
• You are accurate, diligent and a team player who is very capable of working in an international audit environment, sharing specialist knowledge;
• You are analytically strong and has an intrinsic interest in understanding processes, systems and the culture of the bank;
• You have excellent knowledge of risk management practices across multiple domains;
• You have a good command of the English language, both written and verbally.
