Data / Information Risk Specialist
ABN AMRO Hypotheken Groep (AAHG) is expanding the 2nd line Risk Management teams consisting of Credit Risk, Information & Operational Risk (I&ORM) and the Risk Office.
Together we are responsible to provide advice and oversight for all risks within AAHG of which we are the Entity Risk Type Owner.
Are you an experienced Data risk specialist with a passion to navigate through complex changes, ensuring regulatory compliance? Can you identify and assess data and information risk and are you comfortable to challenge and support the 1st line into managing those risks? If so, you might be the senior risk manager we are looking for.
AAHG is currently facing increasing regulatory expectations due to strategic choices and a fast changing regulatory landscape. To achieve AAHG's objectives, more expertise is required to improve the data quality and to maintain the overall risk and control framework.
As a Non-Financial Risk Manager with a focus on Data (and Information) Risk management, your role is to provide 2nd line expertise and guidance to the 1st line with regards to Data Governance, Data Management and Data Control Environment. In addition, you will assist in getting AAHG’s data quality in order by providing advice to Senior Management and various risk committees.
Your responsibilities:
- Serve as the data and information risk expert for a variety of risk assessments and regulatory (change) programs and provide guidance to the 1st line to ensure that risks are being appropriately identified, assessed, managed and reported in the entire data life cycle.
- Assist the business to design local (data risk) controls and test the effectiveness thereof.
- Provide concise and clear opinions (including recommendations and conditions) on data and information risk related matters to ensure that the Managing Board and the relevant risk committees can make informed decisions.
- Ensure in-depth knowledge and stay updated on industry standards and (prudential) regulatory (data) requirements (DORA, BCBS239 PERDARR, FDGM etc.) Assist to ensure that AAHG remains compliant and well-prepared to address (emerging) data risks.
- Support the business to implement and comply with internal policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements.
- Excellent Stakeholder Management across the organization by collaborating with other 2nd line parties and Risk type owners of ABN AMRO Bank and AAHG, Senior Management and the business.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data and/or information risk management. preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Security, Risk Management, Data Analysis, or a related field.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CRISC, CISM, CDPM or CDPSE are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data and information risk management and experience in interpreting these requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify, assess, and mitigate complex data risks.
- Excellent reading and writing skills in both Dutch and English.
- Capable of conveying risk-related information clearly to senior management and risk committees.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support on risk management practices.
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
