Test Automation Engineer

At Volksbank, as a Test Automation Engineer, you are in charge. Based on your expertise, you determine how we solve issues, choose your tools, and thereby innovate our team and our approach. In our mobile teams, you also have direct influence on the development of our apps and the making of important choices.

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will work at Volksbank in one of the Mobile teams, responsible for the development of all Volksbank apps. Here, various small and larger teams work on mobile applications that the Volksbank uses to interact with customers, think of the banking apps or the website. Your impact is big, we have few links so you see your solutions directly reflected in the product. You take the initiative to steer the testing process in the right direction. The better you set up the test lines, the more stable, beautiful and customer-oriented our apps will become. With us, you are the expert and therefore determine which test systems and techniques you work with.

You will have a directing role in performing system, regression or acceptance tests and maintaining and extending the automated tests, both iOS and Android. There is also a desire within the Mobile teams to release every fortnight. To this end, you continuously optimise the testing process. Applying shift left testing principles is not unfamiliar to you. In the position of Test Automation Engineer, it is your turn to supervise the regression tests for the upcoming releases. You help us think about how we can do this best and provide input and guidance from your role. You will have plenty of room to experiment with new tools and techniques.

In your team, you work closely with colleagues from different disciplines. In which you also get plenty of room to (further) develop and shape your own role. You will do this both from home and at one of our offices in Den Bosch or Utrecht.

This is where you will be working

Together with some 200 colleagues spread over several teams, you will work within the Customer Interface Hub. Our teams are close-knit and skilled. You will work together with developers, designers, a scrum master and product owner. The lines of communication are short, we easily ask each other for help and are open to trying new tools and techniques together. We work hybrid; you and your teammates agree on which day(s) and at which location you will meet.

Your qualities

We are looking for a fellow Test Automation Engineer you can say ‘here comes someone in’. You innovate, share knowledge and love continuous improvement. You work well with colleagues from your own and other disciplines. And, you don't shy away from sharing your opinions or ideas. Furthermore, you have:

* BA or Master Degree
* Certificates for TMAP or ISTQB or willingness to obtain these.
* Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and test automation.
* Experience with one or more tools/languages such as; XCUI, Espresso, Jenkins, Gitlab, Fastlane, Kotlin, Python, Swift, Ruby.
* Experience with (continued) development of automated tests.
* Experience with the further development and maintenance of test frameworks
* Familiar with different testing design patterns such as POM or the Robot pattern

What do we offer?
