Senior Domain Architect - Payments & iDEAL
In this role you will be responsible for the IT architecture of the Payments & iDEAL domain at the Value Cluster Digital Channels Personal Banking (DCPB). The Value Cluster DCPB offers relevant propositions and services in the online Consumer channels to new & existing customers and creates and enhances (segment-specific) channel experiences. This is done with the aim of contributing to the digital strategy of the bank and building a personal bank in the digital age. You will be part of the Value Cluster DCPB together with other Solution Architects and a Lead Solution Architect. As a Solution Architect you are a real connector and you put out clear solution content for your colleagues. It is important in this position to monitor the scope in which work is carried out, the technical implementation and quality of these components. You are in conversation with many different functions and you often act as a mediator between business and IT stakeholders. For example, you are a sparring partner for the IT Lead and the Lead Product Owner. The complexity of the position lies in supervising and supporting the DevOps teams, delivering high quality architecture documents and conveying complex information in an easy to understand fashion. Solution Architects create Solution Intents based on their technical expertise, product knowledge and architecture vision, and ensure that that any decisions made in the short term bring their team(s) closer to the Future State Architecture of the Value Cluster.
As a Solution Architect working within Digital Channels Personal Banking (DCPB), you will be focusing on various aspects such as customer experience, business and IT processes, and technology. Your role is expected to embody leadership, where you will develop architecture for one of the Digital Channels Personal Banking product domains. You are pragmatic and realistic, yet capable of setting a compelling vision that inspires everyone to follow. Your ability to connect the dots and paint the bigger picture is essential, as is your capacity to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape and be recognized as a trusted partner. In this role, you will be part of a small team of Solution Architects, collaborating to ensure the delivery of consistent architectural guidance. Assertiveness is key when resolving dependencies or addressing complex issues, and excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. The mindset of a Solution Architect, as we see it, involves being the essential connectors within IT and business realms of the bank. You will bridge gaps between teams, working towards a clear strategy for the Future State Architecture within the Value Cluster. Staying up to date with the latest IT knowledge within the field of architecture is vital. As a Solution Architect, you will facilitate delivery teams, offering support and guidance in architectural matters.
In this role you are responsible for the architecture development of the Payments & iDEAL domain at Digital Channels Personal Banking. This means that:
- You create Solution Intents in close cooperation with your business counterpart;
- You know how to draw and plot boundaries across different dimensions using architecture frameworks and models.
- You know how to use methods, frameworks and techniques to drive strategy into execution.
- You work closely with your peers in the team to identify synergy cross grid/Value Cluster.
- You support the IT DevOps teams to cut big changes in small user stories and shippable increments.
- You carefully follow the latest business and technology trends and developments, and determine the impact it could have on the organization.
In terms of skills, we are looking for a Solution Architect with strong demonstrable experience working with senior IT and business stakeholders. Our new Solution Architect will be able to acquire sufficient knowledge of the relevant applications, understand how they contribute to fulfilling the business requirements and how the new solutions align with the broader Enterprise Archiecture of ABN AMRO. The person has knowledge at the university level with at least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, including 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of IT solution architecture.
Minimum qualifications:
- Proficiency with modeling languages (UML, ArchiMate)
- Knowledge of identity & access standards (OIDC, OAuth)
- Awareness of relevant EU regulations (e.g., PSD2)
- Knowledge of common REST API design practices
- Experience working in an Agile / DevOps environment
- Strong command of written and verbal English
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in the banking sector
- Background in software development
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud
