Product Owner FBS Accounting
As the Product Owner of the FBS teams (Financieel Basis Systeem) you have a broad responsibility regarding facilitating and supporting the Mainbank monthly Accounting processes, as well as the sourcing of Mainbank data towards other Finance and Risk purposes (e.g. regulatory reporting, ALM and Controlling functions). In addition you have a pivotal role in the transition towards the target Finance & Risk data and IT architecture for the Mainbank data in the context of the Compass program.
The FBS teams are part of the Finance Grid. The Finance Grid supports the Finance functions of Accounting, ALM and Controlling with accurate insights and solutions regarding the management of business performance, financial risk management, financial disclosure and reporting purposes. In addition the Finance Grid plays a key role in the migration towards the target Finance & Risk data and IT architecture.
The FBS teams are responsible for the processing of Mainbank data, primarily for Accounting purposes but also for other Finance and Risk purposes. The FBS processed data is sourced towards several parties, amongst others: to Axiom Accounting for monthly financial closing process (aggregated level), to Reporting for granular reporting obligations (granular SSF files), to the Basel change and to ALM and Controlling. As part of the broader initiatives to improve the data quality and resolve regulatory (data related) issues, the FBS teams also are involved in different change projects to improve the Mainbank data processed via FBS.
- As part of the Compass program to realize the future state Finance & Risk Data and IT architecture, the FBS teams play an instrumental role to migrate FBS data and functionalities towards the future state technology and design of the Finance and Risk processes.
- Realizing this requires clear insight in all the data capabilities in FBS and define where and how to position these in the target Data and IT architecture (e.g. shift left to source, shift right to consumer, keep in Mainbank data store context).
- The Product Owner FBS has an important role to play in defining and executing the strategy to migrate towards the future target, while at the same time also continue BaU processes and manage shorter term change requirements.
- This requires the ability to grasp the complexity of it, able to articulate and bring across conflicting interests, strategy and solutions. In his/ her own team, as well as in the broader context he/ she operates in.
The teams consist of 27 fte’s (4 Finance (including the PO, 23 IT) which are allocated to sub focus groups with functional seniors. You operate within the Finance Grid and are part of the grids leadership team; you report to the Grid Owner Finance. Next to FBS, the Grid consists of the ALM domain, the Controlling domain, the General Ledger domain, the Beam domain and a central Value Propositioning Team. The Finance Grid is part of the Finance and Risk Business Grids organization in which all F&R Grids reside. Together with your team you sculpt the future proof solutions for the Finance function. The Grid consists of approx. 300 colleagues (Finance and IT), who all share the passion for continuously improving the added value and compliance of our deliveries. You also contribute to the medium and long term strategy for the Finance and Risk landscape. Different views are valued and respected and it is encouraged to provide a new perspective.
- Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business administration, Exact sciences.
- You have good knowledge of the finance accounting function and regulations, banking products, financial institutions and risk management.
- Knowledge or affinity of COBOL and mainframe of the bank is a pre (as this is the current technology being used).
- Experienced in interacting with various stakeholders across departments in the bank and senior management.
- Minimal 8 years working experience in a banking environment.
- Experience in leadership role on multiple levels. Ambition to grow further in this area.
- Proactive posture, constructively challenging.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- You are an enthusiastic, proactive, assertive and result driven team player.

- A gross monthly salary conform CLA level 11/12 (depending on experience/profile) based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
