AWS Cloud Platform Engineer
At ABN AMRO Clearing we aspire to lead the way to safe and transparent markets. In banking, Clearing denotes all activities from the time a commitment (buy or sell) is made for a transaction until it is settled. Clearing acts as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges they trade on. We become the buyer to the seller and the seller to the buyer, taking over the risk to reconcile ordered between the parties in the transaction. We do so for professional traders, investment managers and corporates. We understand them and strive to deliver reliable, high-quality service across the globe. Working at ABN AMRO Clearing means thriving in an international, professional yet informal, fast-paced environment.
ABN AMRO Clearing is making a large transition to our new target platforms. Our choice for the public cloud is the AWS Cloud platform. We're in the process of actively moving (greenfielding, refactoring, replatforming) workloads to this new platform, which is being created by our AWS Platform Team. Our Product teams (directly involved in supplying services to our clients) then build applications on top of that platform to provide these services to clients. We are searching for new AWS Cloud engineers for both our platform teams.
Platform Teams
We have a team of dedicated engineers building on top of the AWS Infra-layer, making sure that everything that our product engineers build on top is safe, secure and easily consumable. The team has 5 team members and a (technical) product owner. As we're thriving in a global organization, some of these members might reside in one of our offices in other cities like Chicago, Sydney or London. On a day-to-day basis you work a lot with our Development Services team too, which creates custom constructs (customized CDK components) that already comply with our internal security and compliance standards, further increasing the consumability of the platform.
ABN AMRO Clearing is a subsidiary from ABN AMRO and her own banking license (ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV). Globally, you would be joining about 900 colleagues in a self-steering organisation with (of course) all the required training facilities available. From an IT perspective, you will be joining a GRID consisting out of 22 other blocks, each working with agile/scrum. Each of those blocks have their own specific focus, but regularly talk with each other to build the best possible applications.
In addition to the generic and cliche requirements as being a true teamplayer and excellent communicator, we are specifically interested in developers that tick as many of the following boxes as possible:
- AWS Developer Certification (or similar proven work experience)
- Experience with the Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
- Experience with building a consumable platform (for AWS Platform Engineers, this could also be an on-prem platform)
- Experience with building cloud-native applications (for AWS Product Engineers, this could also be private cloud native)
- Specific services that are of interest: Glue, EMR, Lambda, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, MWAA (any other data or runtime related technologies are appreciated).
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
