At a glance

Are you our new senior back-end developer that is enthusiastic and able to coach and inspire others? Are you the one that can help the team to accelerate in their move to more cloud native (REST) API development? You will be working in a joined team that consist of both back-end and front-end developers in the Non-Financial Risk grid of ABN AMRO. Together we work on case management solutions that are used by our internal clients. These applications support our Compliance departments with managing risks such as money laundering, terrorism financing, employee integrity and corruption. Our application run fully within the Azure cloud. You will be responsible, together with your team, for the development, maintenance and running of these applications.

Your job

As a senior back-end developer in the team you will be part of the full development cycle from requirements gathering, designing, development, testing and deployment. You have the opportunity to work on the Azure platform and help shape the way we use Azure. We offer the freedom to explore and experiment on new technologies and to influence what technologies we adopt within our department. In your role as senior you take the lead in technical direction and complex design discussions. As well support and guide our juniors/mediors with your knowledge and expertise.

As a team we are moving towards Python as main technology for developing our REST API’s. In the current setup this is mostly done using TIBCO BWCE. Taking a lead in that transition will be one of your main responsibilities. Extensive knowledge on Python in this area would be required.

Working environment

You will be working in one of our DevOps teams within Non-Financial Risk our mission is to innovate and to create value for our customers, using state of the art technology and various cloud solutions. The DevOps team is working conform the scrum principles in sprints of two weeks. We work primarily together with the front-end chapter. The team works in a hybrid way, two days in office and three days from home.

Your profile

  • Hands-on experience in:
    • REST API design and development (defining API definitions)
    • Azure (or other cloud provider)
    • Developing integration components using Python
    • Database design and development
    • Writing (complex)queries
  • Advantage:
    • FastAPI
    • Azure functions
    • Creating yml pipelines
    • BICEP files (or any equivalent e.g. Terraform)

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
