We are looking for a Medior colleague (>4 years relevant work experience) in the RWA Oversight team of ABN AMRO's Model Owner & RWA Oversight (MO&R) department. The main role of this department is to act as owner of the credit risk models and of the RWA implementation from a 2nd Line of Defense (LoD) perspective. Within the MO&R department, RWA Oversight team oversees of pillar I/II credit risk requirements in systems and processes and is responsible for maintaining the credit risk calculation requirements. The team monitors and reviews the progress of the 1st LoD implementation teams and projects and prioritizes their efforts where relevant. In particular your role is to challenge the implementation teams in their progress of implementing regulatory requirements in IT systems and to make sure our calculation requirements are up to date. The team comprises about 8 permanent internal staff.

Your job

You will have the opportunity of setting calculation requirements, setting data definitions and evaluate and assess the implementation of these requirements of the metrices that we own as RWA Oversight (CR RWA, NPE Backstop, Large Exposure Calculation, Economic Capital) from a content perspective. For complex interpretation discussion on regulations, you can rely on the support of Regulatory Experts in other teams (Basel Centre and Risk policies). You are working closely together with colleagues in your own team, within MO&R, Credit Risk, Basel Centre/Risk policies, IT teams and Business. In the end, RWA Oversight needs to ensure the calculated matrices are in line with internal and external regulations. In addition, you will also be involved in bank-wide projects that affect the metrices that we own as a team.

The calculation requirements have been re-assessed as part of CRRIII (Basel IV) implementation and the implementation teams are currently focusing on re-arranging systems and data in relation to changes in the model landscape and re-structuring the architecture of the RWA chain. You will participate in setting the long term strategy for improving the RWA chain, providing (regulatory) expertise to the delivering parties (IT), have affinity with IT implementation and data and you will assess appropriate tactical solutions. To fulfill your role you will need to deep-dive into the CRD/CRR framework and have basic knowledge of the accounting framework. You will focus on improving our requirements documentation, assessing implementation in systems, and gain hands-on experience in evaluating the quality of implementation.

Working environment

The MO&R department comprises three teams, focusing on the ownership of the pillar I credit risk models (split between Retail and Non-Retail) and Pillar I/II metrics. MO&R is part of the Credit Risk division, which forms the 2nd LoD of credit risk management. Within the Credit Risk division, MO&R is one of the shared capabilities, which means that we are aiming at sharing knowledge with other departments. The vacant position offers opportunities to develop your knowledge of the CRD/CRR framework in a focused context on regulatory requirements.
