(Senior) Associate Finance Specialist- Sustainable markets
Within Global Markets/ Debt Capital Markets/Sustainable Markets (DCM Sustainable Markets) we are looking for a (Senior) Associate Finance Specialist.
We are looking for a professional with experience in, or in-depth knowledge of, Sustainable Finance and Green- and Social Bonds in particular.
As a sustainable finance expert, you have a thorough understanding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) trends, challenges and opportunities and can translate these into specific client propositions. Furthermore, you are familiar with the main approaches to impact reporting and aware of the developments related to the European Sustainable Finance Regulations (e.g., EU Taxonomy and EU Green Bond Standard). By combining these strengths, you can bring further expertise and content to the DCM and Global Markets dialogue on Sustainable Finance with Financial, Corporate and SSA clients.
DCM focuses on origination of bond market mandates. To this end, DCM is responsible for maintaining commercial relationships with international financial institutions (banks and insurers) and corporates whose funding strategy involves issuing (sustainable) debt and capital securities on the international capital markets that are placed with Institutional Investors in the international capital markets. The target geographic region for DCM’s activity is (North) Western Europe.
The Sustainable Markets team leads the client dialogue related to Green-, Social, and Sustainability (linked) bonds and works closely together with the wider DCM Origination and Markets team and other product specialists like Debt Syndicate, Hybrid Capital and Secured Debt, ECP etc.
As a Sustainable Markets Specialist, you will be expected to act as product specialist and drive the in-depth product, sustainability and market/regulatory related content discussions together with our colleagues from DCM Origination and Global Markets.
Global Markets advises large corporate and Institutional clients on complex financing & Investment structures which frequently require the involvement of several product lines. Within Global Markets, Debt Capital Markets (DCM) offers its clients a diverse range of capital and funding structures, advises them on the suitability of each offering which includes Sustainable Finance solutions. Together with a team of experts we want to act as the knowledgeable, proactive, engaged, “trusted advisor”, whose goal is to provide sound, transparent, and comprehensive advice to their clients. Our clients are international so travelling is required from time to time.
Excellent knowledge of global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) trends, challenges and opportunities
• Experience and understanding with the main approaches and market developments in Sustainable Finance, with a focus on the Green-, Social, and Sustainability (Linked) Bond market in particular
• Proven track-record in client advisory on the topic of ESG / Sustainable Finance
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong team player with a very strong developed inquisitive drive that wants to deliver top content
• Strong relationship management abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage, coordinate and prioritise across multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Fluent in English and one additional language (ideally German, Spanish or Dutch)
• Excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills
Given our client locations and fluctuating market conditions availability to travel internationally is required and flexibility regarding working hours. No 9-5 mentality.
