As a Portfolio Manager, you will play a vital role in the delivery of the Grid’s change portfolio, by guiding the Grid Management Team in balancing high demand, conflicting stakeholder priorities, and limited resources.

To support the strategic importance of Portfolio Management, a dedicated Portfolio Management team has been set-up. This team has the ambition to further mature the Portfolio management capability within Platforms and Technology (P&T). Each Portfolio Manager acts as the single point of contact for one or more P&T Grids. Guiding and advising the Grid’s Management Team to make the best possible use of available resources to deliver maximum value from change initiatives. As a Portfolio Manager, you monitor commitments made within and outside the Grid, the dependencies between them, and their progress. You will oversee key portfolio ceremonies and processes essential for strategic steering, and fostering collaboration. By providing valuable insights and (un)solicited advice, you will empower the Management Team to make informed decisions and strengthen the portfolio management maturity.

The Portfolio Management Team will perform a central role in bringing together stakeholders to achieve the best results. You will serve as the linking pin between the portfolio management team and the Grid, implementing new standards and improvement initiatives within the Grid while simultaneously identifying and communicating potential areas for enhancement to the portfolio team for department-wide adoption.

Your expertise in stakeholder management, combined with your capacity to constructively challenge management teams, will be crucial. You possess a proactive and pragmatic attitude, underpinned by strong analytical skills. Your ability to quickly immerse yourself in new environments allows you to effectively shape, socialize, and firmly anchor initiatives for successful execution.

Some examples of your responsibilities:

  • Serve as a sparring partner to the Grid Owner and the Grid Management Team, offering both solicited and unsolicited advice to enhance portfolio maturity.
  • Oversee and manage the Grid portfolio by utilizing JIRA Align to monitor roadmap progress. Provide insights to evaluate progress, address dependencies and risks, and identify improvement opportunities. SimGrultaneously, advise the Grid Owner on strategic goal (OKR) alignment and progress.
  • Leading essential portfolio processes and ceremonies within the Grid to foster strategic decisions and collaboration across the grid.
  • Facilitate decision-making and identify necessary actions to increase portfolio predictability by initiating conversations with stakeholders, including portfolio managers, product owners, and management team members.
  • Contribute to the development of standards and methods aimed at enhancing decision-making, maximizing value, increasing portfolio predictability, enhancing data quality, and improving process efficiency.
  • Increase awareness and knowledge on portfolio-related topics within P&T.

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be pivotal in delivering the Grid's change portfolio that contributes to ABN AMRO's strategy of becoming a Personal Bank in a Digital Age.

Platforms & Technology (P&T) is a service-oriented organization that provides IT to ABN AMRO employees and networks with reliable, controlled, business-focused, easily adaptable, and future-proof IT platforms and technologies. These can be accessed via a self-service mechanism and offer a shorter time to market for (new) functionalities. To become a personal bank in a digital age, all departments of Platforms & Technology contribute to laying a future-proof foundation for the IT landscape. As a member of the Portfolio Team, you play an important role in streamlining collaboration between these P&T Grids and other stakeholders.

As a Portfolio Manager, you are a member of the Portfolio Management team within P&T Office. In this role, you serve as the primary contact for one or more P&T Grids, acting as a key advisor to the Management Team on all portfolio-related matters. The Portfolio Management team is newly established and consists of approximately 5 employees, giving you the unique opportunity to help shape and develop the team from the ground up. We do so in an open and transparent way of working where your opinion is valued and dialogue is encouraged. It is normal to make mistakes and we aim to help each other grow better.

Je profiel

  • You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, and proactive.
  • You have experience with Agile methods and tools (e.g., Jira Align, Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • You have consulting skills, including data analysis, presenting insights, and identifying actionable steps.
  • Your proven stakeholder management skills are an asset.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in portfolio management is a pré
  • You have excellent English skills, yet the working language is Dutch.
