Network Engineer Infrastructure Maintenance
The PIP Networks & Datacenter department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps. P&T offers a wide range of self-service platform solution to the wider ABN AMRO organization. Within P&T we mainly work in an Agile and DevOps fashion and are in the middle of implementing Superblocks, Infra team that work together on specific Value Cases.
As a Network Engineer in the Network Infrastructure Maintenance team at ABN Amro, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and security of our network infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include Life Cycle Management (LCM) of operating systems and hardware, along with other maintenance tasks such as system hardening and compliance checks. Additionally you will assist DevOps teams with a variety of tasks, including, changes, migrations, new implementations and more. An automation mindset is essential, as you will be expected to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform LCM tasks, including upgrades and patch management for network operating systems, hardware and Tooling.
· Implement and maintain system hardening procedures to secure the network infrastructure.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
· Collaborate with a DevOps team working in an Agile Scrum environment to automate network maintenance tasks.
· Troubleshoot network issues and provide solutions to ensure seamless connectivity.
· Translate business requirements into technical solutions to support strategic goals.
· Work closely with other teams to enhance network security and performance.
· Deliver high-quality network services to support both internal and external stakeholders.

Need to have:
- Experience with IT infrastructure Management / Maintenance / Life Cycle Management
- Understanding of network protocols, switching, and routing
- Experience with Managing Cisco (e.g. Catalyst, Nexus, ASR) network devices
- CISCO certifications (e.g., CCNA)
- Experience with other vendors such as, F5, Palo Alto, Checkpoint or similar
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Additional CISCO certifications (e.g., CCNP)
- Datacenter / ACI knowledge, Zscaler
· The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
· The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
